MAX's Cafe & Restaurant Foster Wilsons Prom

We dined here while on our trip to Wilsons Prom and stayed at the lodge. First of all booking to eat here are essential and luckily we booked a table with the hotel booking. Michael, our host for the evening was amazing and kept interacting with us and kept us highly entertained. We has 2 of the specials recommended by him and it was amazing!
Food was so delicious all across and we thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact there was not a morsel left on the plate!! Highly recommended!!

One of the best places to dine in Foster. Very good food and great service. There are some daily specials that are not in the menu, so good to ask while ordering. The Calamari was amazing and the Fish and Chips were really good as well.

Delicious breakfast and dinner. Check out for special dishes of the day. Table booking required.

Warm and friendly on a cold evening..Great restaurant.. the Gippsland Fillet steak was superb.. very good motel overall... recommended.

The manager was absolutely amazing letting us in well after check in closed. Room was so comfortable. Two different types of mattresses to choose from. Slept like a baby. The breakfast and coffee in the morning was Devine. Will always stay here when coming to this area :)

Amazing staff. Great food and hospitality. The atmosphere was great and cozy. Definitely a must go to if visiting nearby.

Absolutely top place. The steak and lamb that we had was first class. The service was 5 star and for a small community restaurant I can't recommend it highly enough and do so to my accommodation guests. This is the place that we go to for all of our local family birthdays as we know that the food will be amazing.

We had booked into the motel for the night and booked our dinner in Max's.
The calamari to start was fresh, tender and set the standard for the main courses. The steak, chips and veg was beautifully cooked and the chips were lovely and crisp.
I went for the beef curry (extra hot), the curry had tender beef and a nice taste, but could have been a lot hotter, but that's my liking and I find it hard to get hot enough.
Not sure salad was the right accompaniment, maybe go with steamed veggies.

As we were staying here, had both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The breakfast was great as was the coffee and dinner was superb. The choices on offer were amazing and you'd be hard pressed not to find something to like. Had both mains and sweets and the servings were perfect. Great service, friendly owners and staff, would happily stay here again and eat in the restaurant.

Wonderful place to stay. New owners have renovated alot of the rooms and the dining room. The room was lovely and very comfortable. Max's, the restaurant, sets the dining benchmark for the area. The meal was excellent and easily reaches the standard of a 5 star restaurant.
A lot of care went into making the meal very tasty.
Corporate rates and other bonuses, I will be back for sure.

Steak night delight, the most beautiful piece of steak and fries I have had in ages. Partner had a more adventurous dish which looked just as nice. Lovely intimate quiet atmosphere, with lovely pictures of beautiful Max. Thanks guys and we'll be back.

I'm very happy we decided to stay in this Lodge.
I loved the little library room opposite reception! Warm and lovely.
Staff was polite and helpful.
But the best of all for us was dinner! It was absolutely delicious and didn't expect it to be so good. We tried all the specials off the menu they had that day, duck risotto, Marocain lamb with cous cous and bbq pork ribs with sweet potato chips. Definitely will recommend it to anyone going to the area.
Location is perfect as Foster is a lovely little town you can go and walk around with the kids, we had to do it as weather was really bad on our 1st day to go anywhere else!

This Inn was very clean, quiet and a touch of luxury! The linen was lovely and the bed so comfortable. We drank from exquisite wine glasses and the amenities were terrific. The managers were very welcoming and the township of Foster really lovely. Great night, thank you.

Absolute gem! Really loved food, service and beautiful sitting area surrounded by amazing garden. Open from 08:00am for breakfast :), not many places around open that early. Owners are really welcoming. Grateful for great experience and morning boost.

Very clean and serviced rooms. Had breakfast here generous servings. Definitely would come back.

Hands down the best dinner we had on our road trip. Easily better than most of the overhyped places in Syd and melb, all hidden and tucked away in a corner.

We had aranchini, calamari and pork belly and every single dish delighted our taste buds.

11/10 would make a detour to come back again

Lovely setting, excellent service, great food - very accommodating of our preference. Just a little hard to initially locate as signage is minimal. It's actually the motel (lodge) restaurant.

We stopped in here with our young family for breakfast. The food was fantastic and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was lovely and the gardens are beautiful.
