The venue is gorgeous - one of the oldest buildings in the area, the food is interesting, varied and delicious. The garden gets a lot of sun, so bring a hat for lunch.
The shop has a wide variety of local food, reasonably priced and the music on the weekends creates a delightful atmosphere

Amazing service. This place is on the highway but for some reason I've been driving past here for 35+ years and never noticed it. It's been recently renovated inside and has a bar now. The place has such a lovely ambience to it. I ordered a pork dish and the pork fell apart beautifully. The pannacotta for dessert was also a good option, not too filling.

Ambermere Inn treats you like family. They have an incredible menu which paired with excellent service, makes for a fantastic evening.

Recommendations on dishes include: the saffron risotto with the most meaty and tasty chorizo (locally sourced), the cod dip and their whole rainbow fish. Have their honeycomb semifreddo to finish off and you've got yourself a 3 course wonderland.

Atmospheric heritage inn now operating as a romantic bar and restaurant. Relaxing and civilised, with a bright courtyard and charming backyard (with a gorgeous backdrop) plus wood fire indoors.
The chefs knows a thing or two about good food. Everything was yummy! The chat potatoes are amazing so do give them a try. Everything tastes home made but done very well (e.g. the aioli was freshly prepared).
Service is charming, thoughtful and kind. This is a place to be relaxed at.
Prices are not astronomic. There is wine tasting available.

Wonderful place to stop for food! Loved the outdoor sitting area and be sure to visit their little shop for local goodies.

The food was delightful and ambience was well suited for a date or romantic dinner. The whole ocean trout was cooked perfectly and I would definitely recommend. Chicken pate was also wonderfully creamy and light.

Great place, the menu is different but what we had was really lovely. I can recommend the roasted cauliflower and the chat potatoes were the best.

5 stars - what more can I say! I booked a table for dinner after my girlfriend and I got engaged, to celebrate. It was quite a trek for us, from Sydney, but well worth it. The atmosphere was homely and warm, and we got to sit next to the fireplace which really added to the mood. Our dishes were absolutely phenomenal, among the best we've ever had. Full credit to the wait staff, the owner and the chef for their efforts at this terrific establishment, it's definitely worth a visit whether you're local or coming from Sydney. We'll be back, for sure.

In December 2017 we held our entire wedding (both ceremony and reception) at Ambermere Rose Inn and Fiona and her team went above and beyond to make it the perfect occasion. They gave us exclusive use of the entire venue and met all of our requests. The scenery is stunning, the food is delicious and the service is first class. We used Blue Mountains Special Event Hire to provide extra props. Fiona's existing relationship with them made the extra prop hire easy allowing early delivery of pieces and enabling us to go to the venue the day beforehand to set everything up.

My dog was allowed to be present on the day of the wedding which was such a bonus to have him be part of our special day.

The food and wine was amazing and the customer service was second to none. Nothing was too much to ask and was always provided with a smile. They were flexible when our scheduled timeline for the day ran a bit early with guests arriving much earlier than planned on a very hot sunny day.

Because of this beautiful venue and it's amazing staff we feel we had the BEST wedding anyone could ever have asked for. Ambermere will be a place we frequent whenever we are visiting our family in the mountains, providing lasting memories of a beautiful occasion.

Came here for a day trip. The scenery is gorgeous, and when you step the restaurant and bar, you feel as though you have stepped back in time. The fireplace was a real plus on a cold winter’s day.
The ingredients was fresh and delicious. You get what you pay for! Good selection of drinks as well. It is well worth visiting if you are after a nice day out and something good to eat and drink!

Amazing food, amazing service.... I took my fiance for his birthday and we really enjoyed the produce. Everything was fresh and beautiful. I would highly recommend this place to people who want to enjoy romantic moments with beautiful views and food.

Great restaurant in lovely surroundings and setting. Loved the pork and salmon was also great my wife said. Kids meal a tad small and the kids were still hungry afterwards. Will come back again when around the mountains.

We fell upon this gem in Little Hartley, along the Cob & Co route. Such a relaxed enticing ambience with an excellent menu. The pork cutlets with pear were scrumptious. We sat outside enjoying the perfect spring mountain weather. The owners have down a wonderful job in maintaining the history of the 1845 Inn.

My girlfriend and I had a really great time at Ambermere Inn tonight. We rocked up very late, as the kitchen was kitchens winding up but the owner still accommodated us with a meal, drinks, and desert. Everything was delicious, the staff were lovely and the place had a really nice vibe and decor. Will definitely go again next time we're in the area!
