It's a starting point of three or four hiking paths. These paths take 3-8 hours to complete the round trips. The lookout is located at the Eddy's Rock, and it has a very good view of the farmlands. In addition, there are plenty of historical explanations about the exploration to cross the Blue Mountain area back to the 1800s.

Beautiful spot with amazing views. If you get a chance book an abseiling session with 'High n Wild' and they will show you the best views in an exhilarating way!

A hidden gem for camping, exploring the beauty of the nature, or walk through the history!!! Mount York Lookout is an easy grade dog friendly hike with beautiful views of the Kanimbla Valley! Plenty of walks, short and long to select. Free carpark and non-powered camping sites available. Highly recommended!!!

Great views, abseiling and great spot for camping. Although too many campers in such a small space and obviously many people living in their vans for a long time brings the place down a little. Surprisingly one of the few remaining free camping areas in the whole Blue Mountains!

Went abseiling with the whole family, including a 7, 11 and 13 yo kids. Absolutely loved it. Eagle Rock Adventures, particularly Ryan, were fantastic.

Great hidden picnic area located on the western edge of the Blue Mountains. Great picnic facilities, local historical site information all around area. Lots of marked walks from short to long, easy to hard
Popular with mountains climbers. Spectacular views. Non-powered camping sites available.

Place where Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth considered they had cross the Blue Mountains. A number of monument commemorate various human achievement. Great view of Hartley Valley from a number of lookout or look back in the mountains on the right. We didn’t make it back here for sunset but I’d imagine it would be special.

For a full-on dose of Blue Mountains history from 1813 on, come here! Great views to the West and North and excellent signage, plus commerative memorials spanning 100 years or more. Make sure you walk the few hundred metres down the start of Cox's road to marvel that a wheeled vehicle could ever travel that route, and at the men who found it and developed it. I am chagrined that in all my years, I had never been here before.

Amazing views, great camping site with amazing wilderness. Also a historical site with the first European settler explorers memorial there.

Absolutely amazing views! Though there is a vast majority of it with no fences / edge protection (which makes it perfect for adventures!). So if you're not a roping or rock enthusiast then be careful of the fall (particularly if you have young children).

Great little place to stop and drink your coffee.

Also looks like ir functions as a campsite with toilet facilities - there were lots of people set up.

Awesome spot for climbers and abseilers. With a beautiful view.
Camping is nice as there is a toilet. Use to be free but I’ve heard that you may need to pay now. Not always bad, as this will help with the upkeep of the place and hopefully keep the away people that want to ruin a nice place.

Great views to the west, you can really get an idea of what it was like to first cross the blue mountains and then see the plains below for the first time (for the European settlers) 200 years ago.
Lots of information boards to learn about the place.
Toilet and picnic facilities are good, although no cooking facilities. You can camp nearby and use the fire rings there if planning to stay a while for a climbing out walking trip.
A recommended stop.
