I recently had the pleasure of visiting "The Port Anchor Hotel," specifically the gaming pokie bar, and I must say, it was an incredibly engaging experience. It is a local pub with relaxed atmosphere.
Staff are friendly and accommodating.
Dishes are classic pub fare, perfectly prepared. Good value, too.
Edit: Returned again for a 3 generation family lunch. We had excellent service and everyone was happy with the meals. The squid schnitzel was the favourite (and one of the reasons we booked in there).
What looks like a modern building is actually quite old and was known as the Kent Hotel. It was modernised into an Art Deco building and a staircase still remains from that era. There are photos on the walls documenting how this hotel changed with the times.

The best tuna patties ever! Large serving, great prices, quick service. Salad bar has a good assortment of fresh salads to choose from or roast vegies. Nice well presented pub. Well worth a visit for a meal, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic food a little gem in the Port value for money

Introduced the squid schnitzel to someone new and they loved it as much as me!!! Never fails to impress!

It venue may look old and a bit dated and smell like an old town hotel/pub, but the food will always have me coming back. Some of the best cooked seafood this side of town, and delicious chicken schnitzels. A pretty modern wine list as well. The low prices are just a bonus! Be sure to book, as this place fills up fast at dinnertime (and for good reason!)

Myself and my partner went to the port Anchor this evening for a meal, both having the roast lamb. The service was excellent, We were very well looked after and the food was beautiful! We finished with the sticky date pudding which was outstanding. We will defently be back very well priced, good sized portions. Very rare to be able to get a good pub meal for the price these days.

The food is AMAZING and they have an Awesome salad and veg bar which is full of delicious food. Staff are Very friendly and helpful. It’s so clean and you can even see into the kitchen which not many places have that kind of openness.
It’s the BEST time I’ve had in a pub in forever!!
I just wish I could give it 10 stars, oh hang on a sec I can.....

Treated like a princess My father be over the 🌙...no negatives at all.. not one person unhappy every one smiling treated too good .hot day didn't feel like communicate cation but my attitude changed at bar had Chat amazing two lady's bar staff ..if U want fair service or best in Adelaide pop in won't be sad ..best two bar staff I've came across ..in shock 😅 too good .dad be happy thanks anchor ox

Well what can I say. The food is amazing & delicious. The serves are a great size & the salad bar is nice n fresh. The staff are friendly as too. This is our first time here & we will definitely be coming back . What a gem of a pub

Great customer service, food was of great quality - worth the amount you pay for. Restaurant area is smaller but it does fill up quite fast if you arrive a little later. Highly recommend this place to anyone interested in dining out 😊

You've GOT to eat the Squid Schnitzel! Everything else on the menu ? What a selection! Staff happy, friendly, tripping over themselves to make my table of 5 content. I am DEFINITELY going again.

We went there on Saturday 4th of May 2013, as part of a small birthday party, could not fault anything, the food was to our liking, we asked for med' rare we got med' rare we even had well done, the food was served on time ,so we all ate at the same time, as there is nothing worse than having half the food out & people waiting to be served. We even asked for a copy of the menu so we could show our friends, this was gladly done.
The staff were friendly the atmosphere great, we came in at 7pm which we were told was a good time as it is normally quiet at this time.
Will be coming back again.

They have been closed during the Covid ordeal but finally they have reopened, albeit on minimal customers and staff. They did not disappoint, as usual they have the best food and the friendliest staff, all for an extremely reasonable price. Highly recommended, can't wait for our next meal there. 6 stars out of 5!!

We had lunch Tues 4/2/20. I had a T-bone, my friend had Lambs fry & Bacon both for $13.90 each beautifully done. Weve been before but this place is even better. I usually dread chips in hotels but these were the BEST Ive ever had! There werent many but Id rather have quality than rubbish.
Mushroom gravy had real mushrooms in it. Quality food outdoing many more expensive hotels. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
