We stayed in slab cottage 7. It was wonderful. Having a fire, beautiful sunset, birds, a horse to say hi to, was really lovely

Loved the location, views and property in general. We stayed in the Shearer's shed. Our room was immaculately clean, bed was comfortable and lots of little extras like cereal and hot chocolate. We used the BBQ and had our evening meals overlooking the mountains (& neighbouring sheep).

The property is a credit to the owners Rob and Sarah. A beautiful relaxing place to stay. Our last visit June 2022 was our third stay at this lodge. The owners were very accommodating, have stayed in three different units here and all of them fantastic. Will be returning, consider this place everything we want/need. Bouquets to Rob and Sarah.

We stayed in cottage no.2 and found this place to be charming and tranquil. You can check in as late as you like (the keys are in a safe by the door). The cottage was massive and could sleep 4, and there are passage ways of you want to connect to cottage 1 and 3. There are bbq and pizza oven facilities as well as a pool. The kitchen was fully stocked and there was even a laundry and dryer. The breakfast provisions (juice, cereal, fruit tubs) were a nice touch. Sunsets here are stunning. We would definitely come back to stay.

Look it up then book the Glass Cottage. A really remarkable location and truly unique accommodation. It's like staying in a fish bowl but the outside inside concept really works. Well done Owl Head Lodge!

We stayed at the Slab Cottage 4 to break the journey from Sydney to Coonabarabran and loved it so much we are doing the same in reverse on the way home.
Very well appointed with generous provisions for continental breakfast with cereal and fruit - just bring your own bread.
2 spacious bedrooms, each with A/C and ceiling fans, good tv and mobile phone reception.
Note that there is an extra charge per person in excess of 2, even for children.

Note also that they have properties in the centre of town in Gulgong under the same name, check the address carefully before booking to avoid confusion as the Bergalin Road properties are true rural cottage getaways.

Very pleasantly surprised with everything We had the glass house a place where you cannot run into each other but even the small details were taken care of. This place will be perfect to get with the 2 studios next to it as a big family gathering. we greatly enjoyed the views and serenity. We will be back. Cath and Ray

Wow, I feel like I won’t write this well enough to convey how happy we were with our stay.
From the easy and seamless booking through to checkout, we had the most amazing stay here. My husband and I with our two children, stayed in one of the modern shearer’s cottages. From the moment we drove into the driveway, we felt an immediate sense of peace. Once unpacked, we took a stroll up the country driveway, we stopped to chat to the gorgeous friendly animals in the paddocks along the way.
The accomodation was immaculately clean, spacious, & every single little thing had been thought of. The beds were so comfortable, heating was perfect on a cold night, the toiletries provided were of top quality & smelt gorgeous. We were lucky enough to be the only ones there on this occasion, & the family time was beautiful. The pool looks it would be lovely in summer with a wide deck, with views right over the countryside. There was a lovely fire pit area behind our accomodation, with a good supply of wood available. It was a quick drive into Gulgong for dinner, & an easy 20min drive into Mudgee the next day for our sporting commitments.
We will 100% be back again, & would highly recommend Owl Head Lodge to anyone

We have just spent two magical nights at Marg & Garry Meredith's Owl Head Lodge in Gulgong. Tranquil, restorative and oh so beautiful views. Accommodation top class. What a very pleasent supprise this place was. you travel along a dirt road and arrive at this little oasis. The place has nice decor and a swimming pool as well as AC. Lovely full length glass windows and well maintained. If i was to make one suggestion it would be to have some sarlon over the pool as it get mighty hot out here.

This is a fantastic place just outside of Gulgong, but close enough to Mudgee. I would recommend it to anyone. It has all the amenity of a much more expensive facility, but the tranquility of a much smaller venue. Well done to the management team.

A group of nine friends almost booked the entire lodge - and it was fabulous. So peaceful and spacious and the stars at night - brilliant! Highly recommend
