The Banksia Tree Cafe and Restaurant

Was this a delight to visit or what!
We were looking for a last minute place to go to for a birthday celebration, called these guys the day before, and they accommodated.

Upon arrival, the atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. Dan greeted us and we all very quickly realised that we had his birthday to celebrate on the day we were there also.
The food was very impressive. All locally sourced and in season. It was very nice to see one of the stoves in the kitchen using red gum as the fuel source, this made the bread/toast very very yummy!

Massive thank you all of the staff here, it was an experience we are all going to remember.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Banksia Tree Cafe and Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The crab scramble I ordered was excellent, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The staff were incredibly friendly, providing top-notch service throughout the meal. The inviting atmosphere, delicious food, and exceptional drink options make it a must-visit spot!

Came here for a late breakfast. They have a great point of difference, being met at the door and table service. All produce sourced locally. Their claim to have the best Bacon & Eggs in Adelaide is true. Full of flavour and the bacon and eggs were perfectly cooked. The house made porridge was delicious too. Looking for a coffee and something for brunch and happened upon this cafe/restaurant. Deciding at the door whether to stay or not we were greeted but not pressured into taking a seat. Best decision to stay and order brunch. Between us we had bacon and eggs ,pancakes and brioche with fruit ,ice cream and caramel sauce. Wish we had taken photos. Meals and the coffee was amazing . Also lovely and cool on a hot day.

The food was great, atmosphere is nice. Ordered mac and cheese and it was good. The only thing is that due to it being a public holiday, there were a lot of customers and the staff was quick and sometimes can be a bit abrupt. But its understandable. Overall a good experience and wont hesitate to come back.

Situated on historic St Vincent Street (cnr Robe Street) this Cafe sits comfortably. Relatively spacious and airy inside, this venue provides space for a large table group or a more intimate table for 2. Certainly in summer the footpath bench options may be viable, but the traffic flow here is usually quite steady.
I personally liked their mantra of local, seasonal, sustainable and this is clearly supported on the menu.
Poached eggs were spot on and the scrambled egg burger was very flavoursome. Coffee was good enough for a second helping with a moderately robust blend and relatively smooth finish (8/10).
Staff were friendly, attentive and efficient.
Definitely worth continuing patronage.

The service that she provided was exemplary and I ensured the owner (working in the kitchen) was aware of the asset she represents to his business.

The food was incredible. I had the Boston Bay X Banksia Tree with fried eggs and hash browns. It was delicious! I also stole half of my partner's XO crab. Definitely getting that next time! The batchie was beautiful with Monastery Coffee beans. And my dogs loved their puppacinos! We will definitely be making this our new regular spot.

Amazing cafe in the port. All the ingredients are locally sourced. The staff are incredibly friendly.

If you want to go on a weekend, I recommend booking during the week. Or you can try your luck. We were lucky but it got very busy after we sat down.

The food is amazing and fresh. Had the vegan cheese burger with fries. They smoke the vegan patties, and the potato buns just make it one of the best vegan burgers I have had at a not fully vegan establishment.

Definitely recommend checking them out.

The staff were super friendly. The restaurant was family friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food family ordered was amazing. Bacon and eggs were best ever eaten locally. Loved the burger as used high quality meat for patties which was super delicious. The sauce used was locally made and sourced and was super delicious. Dessert being fire baked banana bread was amazing. Give Babksia Tree 12/10. Great local cuisine.

Such a lovely spot for my Birthday lunch with my best friend.
As we walked in the door the atmosphere felt amazing. It had a rustic but classy look and we could smell the char grill. We were shown to our table and offered drinks by the waitress. The table service was a surprise, as this is not common in today's cafes. We each had a chicken burger and shared a serve of fries. All were tasty and well cooked, the potato bread roll was a pleasant surprise. For dessert we shared a delicious brownie and ice-cream.
I will definitely be back in the new year for my sisters birthday.

We both had their florentine and the machine and it was delicious, although my partner found the pulled pork too sweet for an eggs benny. The coffees were amazing: best coffee in a very long time covering several states. Very friendly and effective service. Great experience!

The only thing that was a delicious as the bacon was Dan’s vibrant personality and stunning good looks. Our new regular breakfast spot

Food and coffee was delicious. My friend had great things to say about the vegan burger. Great service, our server was lovely and the food came out quickly!

Attended for breakfast. Welcome from staff and information about table service and restroom location was appreciated. Great timely service and coffee was top notch also. Bacon and eggs with kransky and hash brown, relish is a delight.

The menu looks really good and inviting. I loved the variety of hot drinks. House made matcha sounds pretty good to me. Coffee was nice and smooth to taste.

First time here, for breakfast. greeted at the door by a very bubbly and friendly young lady, we had booked and were taken to our table, she asked us our drink orders first, coffees came out quickly, she then took our food orders, I had bacon and eggs and added tomatoes and a hash brown, crispy bacon, and Green eggs and ham for my Fiance. Food came out in good time, and cooked to perfection, my bacon was perfect and we both left nothing on our plates, everyone's experiences are always going to differ, ours was awesome, highly recommended.

Was recommended here by a friend, would gladly do the same to others. Friendly & welcoming staff from the time you walk in the door. Great menu full of SA produce. Our food was delicious & coffee was great. Will defs come back to try some other menu items ☺

Delicious light fare, best matcha latte I've had in Adelaide, and interesting beer and cocktails. Setting is a gorgeous heritage building. Decent service. This place is a gem.
