What an amazing place to stay with great value for money! Definitely have recommended to all our friends and family. The facilities were amazing (unfortunately when we stayed the pool wasn’t open though). The cabins are beautiful and very private. The wildlife is so friendly and we had an amazing experience feeding the kangaroos. Great for kids, we travelled with a 1.5 year old and she had a great time. My only con is that no shampoo and conditioner was provided so you will have to bring your own. But overall it was an incredible experience!

We recently stayed at Beluga, a 2 bedroom bathroom bush view lodge at the Waterfront Retreat at Wattle Point. It was a tranquil and somewhat remote getaway, set between Lake Victoria and national park with an abundance of banksias and kangaroos.
Exploring the surrounds on foot, bicycle or kayak was most enjoyable.
The spa was relaxing after the day's adventures. Unfortunately the pool was not operational when we were there in February, 2024.
Our accommodation was spacious and modern with all the usual amenities.
Whilst our lodge was not on the water, it was only a short walk away.
I would highly recommend Beluga Lodge.
Thank you to Andrew, our host, who was very helpful.

We had an excellent stay at Waterfront retreat. It is such a tranquil place with so much space, access to the lake and nature. The accommodation is very comfortable and the log fire very cosy in the evening, Would definitely recommend to other families and groups.

My teenagers and I couldn't be more delighted at the tranquil stunning location. The cabins are beautiful, private and well appointed. Being surrounded by abundant bird life, feeding kangaroos and so close to the lake where a swim or a paddle in the canoes provided was both invigorating and just the breath of fresh air we needed. Andrew is an amazing host. The facilities are fabulous, and just close and far enough from Paynesville. Its a stunning place and we vowed to stay a week next time. Thanks Andrew!!

Waterfront Retreat is exactly what its name states. It's right on Lake Victoria. It's quiet, tranquil in a bush setting with lake views so a true retreat.
We enjoyed our stay greatly. Our villa had a view of the lake, the bird life was teeming and the kangaroos entertained us on the grass in front of the villa.
Andrew is a genial and obliging host. He'll answer all your questions, knows the area really well but will also leave you in peace if that's why you came.
Enjoy your stay. We did.

The view of the lake from our accommodation was absolutely gorgeous.
Excellent facilities - like the kayaks and canoes and NEW life jackets.
The staff were super friendly.

We had a great time over the Easter weekend at the Waterfront Retreat! A beautiful location overall, we had a reserve facing house with a short walk to the water. It was nice looking out over natural parkland with the bonus of having kangaroo visitors every morning and afternoon - an absolute treat for the kids. They came right to the door and ate out of our hands, some afternoons there were up to 5 or 6. The kids even got to witness a joey leaving the mothers pouch. The house was a nice size (2 bed, 2 bath, full kitchen and big window facing dining, lounge and master), only con I would say would be the insects & bugs (comes with the nature of accomodation) so not overly unexpected just maybe a thought to have maybe some pest control inside them. But otherwise, absolutely no complaints! Incredibly friendly hands on resort owner with lots of recreational activities provided (bikes, kayaks, balls etc). Phone reception (we are with Optus & Telstra) wasn't too bad but not a big concern for us as we are on holiday and WiFi provided was great. We will definitely be back (hopefully once the pool is fixed?) as I would love to experience a water facing house, and won't hesitate to recommend Waterfront Retreat to family & friends.

A lovely place to stay.
A bit of a drive from Melbourne and well worth it!
A peaceful retreat with lots to see and do, or just relax. A novel place with gorgeous wildlife - kangaroos, native birds and an echidna or two if you’re lucky. Of course theres the lake with peaceful water sports such as canoeing. Makes a nice change from noisy jet skis which seem to be in abundance around other water ways these days.
The cabins are terrific self contained accommodation.
Also just a nice country drive to nearby places such as Lakes Entrance and Gippsland Lakes.

What a beautiful place! It had everything you could ask for for a weekend getaway. We've stayed in a few places in victoria and this is by far the best, in terms of value for money! Thank you for a memorable stay.

*we stayed at a lake view apartment
*Using the spa (jacuzzi) is more peaceful at 8.30pm
* There is an Aldi 18 mins from property (drive), you can get all the additional things needed from there.
* All facilities are provided inside the apartment

My family has been coming here for years and the staff have always been nothing but helpful, most recently we visited and had a family emergency / health scare...

The staff and owner were more than lovely, and accommodating allowing us to extend our stay.

In regards to the accommodation and amenities, everything was tidy and clean upon arrival, with no unexpected surprises!

I would strongly recommend this family friendly retreat for a getaway!

Loved it! The indoor pool was fabulous, the spa was amazing. Seeing kangaroos was fabulous and fun. It’s close to Paynesville and we got the free ferry across to Raymond Island to see loads of wildlife including a plethora of koalas. The kayaking is included and was top fun. Wi-Fi sucked!
