We have purchased 7 pieces from this studio and plan a return trip today. We are unashamed brand ambassadors of Charles studio and his artwork and of the wonderful friendly service we always receive from his lovely wife. If you find yourselves at Yaka do yourself a favour and call in and browse the prints on display. An amazing experience. The image is of the very first print we purchased which is titled ‘To cool for summer’ and we just resonated and had to buy it. Thanks guys you are amazing 👏👏👏👏

Every time l go home to visit my sister l make sure l pop into Sluga Gallery. I have been collecting pieces of Charles and Nancy's work for over 10 years. I buy art that sings to my soul and makes me smile everytime l look at it. I can only afford prints and l ever grateful the Sluga Gallery cater to starting low income collectors. Thanks guys

My wife and I participated in the September/October 2022 tour of Croatia. We had a fabulous time exploring cities towns and countryside. Although many of the 13 in our group were artists and photographers we are not. This did not diminish our experience at all as the low key free days allowed us to explore to our hearts content. Charles is a brilliant guide, balancing organised activities and self guided options. You can do as much or as little as you feel like. Highlights for me included a stay in Diocletian’s palace in Split surrounded by a vibrant living community within intact Roman buildings. Another highlight was a luncheon on a traditional farm eating and drinking produce from the farm, best wine and food ever. Our last stay in Dubrovnik was absolutely beautiful. Wandering through the medieval city, tasting a cosmopolitan cuisine, attending a concert in an historic church, topped off by a guided walk of the city’s walls being educated by an avid local historian. All told I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and appreciated the effort that Charles and his beautiful daughter Aimee put in to make it such fun. I am recommending this tour to all of my friends and family.

I have had the great pleasure of attending Charles' 3 workshops in the last year. I found his teaching methods were enjoyable, inspirational, relaxed & at times humorous. Charles' style and technique appeal to me & was able to really improve my watercolour art. His gallery is a superb place for lessons & I really recommend his workshops. i am looking forward to online lessons.

Charles' work is full of light and life and his Gallery is always a delight to visit. His works are varied and the works on show also vary so it's always worth a visit. His original works, printed pieces and cards are reasonably priced. I like how he often mans the Gallery and can discuss his work.
I've attended a few of his painting workshops so its worth dropping in to the Gallery or visiting his webpage to check them out.

Charles was there the day I visited and was warm and friendly. I was blown away by his brilliant water colour paintings, he is a very talented artist. The story behind his "Monopoly" series is fascinating - make sure you ask about The Strand painting!

Firstly, Yackandandah is a delightful gold mining era town in North Eastern Victoria which has many charming buildings and views, and which is in easy proximity to other picturesque and interesting villages and towns.
Secondly, one of the grandest buildings in Yackandandah is the gallery and studio of Charles Sluga, creative watercolour artist. Charles' wife is a professional photographer and also exhibits her work in the gallery. In summer the high ceilings make the gallery a cool space and in winter the constant wood fire keeps the place cosy.
Thirdly, Charles is a remarkable artist with a strong creative flair and creates many striking images of Australian and European subjects. His style is seen in loose and contemporary, colourful and dark, frivolous and insightful images that bear close scrutiny and discussion with the artist if he is present. You'll get a lot more than from a quick five minute walk-through if you take time to absorb and study the works.
Fourthly, Charles is an excellent educator. If you are an intermediate or advanced watercolourist and Charles' style appeals to you it would be worthwhile to investigate his classes or workshops. His teaching style is casual, light hearted and personal but contains a great deal of his experience and for people wanting to push their boundaries a little (or a lot) Charles offers a special opportunity to try something different and more advanced in a supportive environment.

Such a great gallery with amazing artwork and photography. Such an asset for Yackandandah. What a great spot to visit! Nancy was so kind and helpful, even sent up some more pieces after I got back home and decided I wasn't quite done.

There is a welcoming integrity that envelopes you as you enter this gallery. The water colours and photographic work on display will definitely impress you... you will not want to leave empty-handed.
When you visit beautiful Yackandandah do not miss the Charles Sluga Gallery.

I received my custom-sized glicee print in the mail; and the print was delivered to the framer on the same day. Plenty of oooh’s and aaah’s were received. I’m delighted.
Thank you Nancy and Charles.
