Parwana Afghan Kitchen

Had a fantastic meal here on our recent visit to Adelaide. We shared a plate of Ashak Dumplings, Narenj Palaw and Karayee Morgh with a side of spicy pickled veg. The dishes were all fantastic and was more than enough for two people leaving us with leftovers to take home. The food was a grand introduction to afghan food as somebody who has never had it before and overall good value as we spent ~$80 and had enough to take home. Also very quick service, as the food arrived to our table within 10 minutes of ordering.

The only issue we had was it was quite loud inside with a couple of large groups and the sound would echo quite a bit making it hard to have conversation. Once the big groups left it was much better.

Another delicious experience at Parwana this evening with a friend. We had the dips, the lamb dumplings, eggplant and chicken.
It was also super delicious and such a unique and interesting set of flavours and texture combinations. The device was friendly and efficient and there was a nice buzz in the room. I can see why it's so popular and would definitely go back again when I'm in town

Delicious and unique meal. The service was a bit off in that we felt like we had to flag down the server to get anything to happen repeatedly - but the food came out shockingly fast and was amazing. Very casual atmosphere- fun place for a date night.

Insanely good food. Everything is fresh and flavourful, simplicity at its finest. So delicious. I've brought many friends and family here and they're always amazed at how good the food is. The ashok dumplings are the best.

Amazing restaurant. The food quality was incredible and our first Afghan food experience and boy were we impressed. The portion sizes are very generous; the flavour incredible. 10 $ corkage enabled us to bring a very nice bottle

Bought takeaway cause dine in gets busy very quickly even right at 5pm. Dumplings were a standout from what I ordered. Enjoyed the Afghan flavours as they share similarities with other middle eastern dishes. Would go again as the to try the other dishes as they sound good but I didn’t want to over order.

We came here for lunch. Food was excellent. Decor is so nice, loving the pink walls and floored tiles. Suitable for small or large groups. Service was fast and waitress is super friendly. Worth the trek

I have come here a lot over the years, and I have never been disappointed! I recommend with a whole heart and a happy tummy to dine here.
As for drinking on the premises, I have taken my own wine and paid the corkage in the past, but recently opted to try their alcohol free options instead, and they were so yummy...we didn't regret not bringing wine, so maybe skip on the wine or just also have their drinks as well with your wine.

I also own their book, I've given up on putting tabs on pages because I'm in love with all of the recipes, so whilst you're at it, do yourself a favour, make a reservation and buy the book!

Absolutely delicious food and great value. Fresh, healthy and with a good amount of flavour that's not overpowering. The menu is quite small (which i like) so we got to try almost everything on the menu and it was all to a very good standard. On top of this, everything was very reasonably priced and they allow BYO wine.

I have been here a few times in the last couple months and my reviews are similar to others. The food is great!
Its a small family run place and you know when booking its not fine dining, but if you are happy to be in a crowded, loud, exciting small room with great food this place is for you.
The only downsides are that the food comes out very quickly, I think this is due to the set menus they use for different days of the week so I assume a lot of the entrees and main are ready to go. The last 2 times we have been in and out in 45mins just because the food came as soon as we ordered (even before the drinks arrived). I guess if you make a booking after 8:30pm you will be able to be a bit more relaxed, but be aware from 6-8:30 its busy.
We will be going back.

Outstanding. Just outstanding, every dish a winner. Beautifully executed, and low key but friendly service. In short, these people really know what they’re doing.

Beautifully styled resteraunt with music that set the vibe. The dumplings, eggplant dish and rice were divine. We went for lunch and didn't need a booking however it is very busy for dinner, so make sure to book.

The most authentic Afghan food I’ve ever had. Loved the friendly service. The ice cream is a must have.

Many have raved about this establishment and the verdict: Excellent 👌 We were travelling in and we just couldnt miss this spot on our trip. The rice dish was great! We enjoyed the grilled lamb dish a lot. Portions are plenty big and value is excellent. Highly recommended!

Would recommend saving space for the pistachio and rose icecream at the end! That was a highlight.

A long-standing Adelaide classic and staple among the Afghan cuisine community. Menu has remained the same for many years with people continually returning (and us in particular) for the dumplings, lamb and rice. We had the 6pm Sunday dinner time slot and within half an hour all tables had seatings so it would be wise to book ahead. There’s parking on Henley Beach Road and street parking on Northcote and Danby Street.

We went there on Sunday and I really love the eggplant dish (sorry, forgot the menu name)!
It was awesome. The place itself is really cute, but not too flashy. Somehow for me it almost felt like eating in an aunty’s or grandma’s home.
