Emerald Lantern Chinese Restaurant

Last Saturday we took my family to eat in for my partners birthday.

The service was outstanding.
The food was the best chinese ive had in years and years.
The servings were fresh, huge and so so tasty. True chinese food served with super fresh ingredients.
The meat servings alone were amazing.

Eating in is always the best way, but her takeaway prices are amazing with great lunch specials.

I hope the community in Lithgow support her and her husband, they deserve it.

What a huge meal we just had! And just beautiful. We ordered the 2 shandy chefs specials and struggled to eat it all because they were so big! Couldn't fault the food or service, friendly staff - great place, highly recommend.

So we will set the scene! It was a Friday night of the long weekend, on a rod trip to Molong! We 4 hungry individuals looking for an Asian feed and we saw this was one of the best options! And weren’t we correct!
Talk about excellent service, portion size unbelievable, full strength and no sugar cokes! It was a delightful experience and would highly recommend to anyone visiting or passing through!

Wonderful! Our favourite go to take out in lithgow- excellent value for money always left overs that hold up well the following day or so.

We are new to the area and thought we'd try our luck at the Emerald Lantern. We struck gold! The absolute best Chinese food we have ever had! The serving sizes are huge and the staff are extremely friendly. This is our new favourite place to go. We can't recommend it highly enough. A+A+A+

Wonderful food and service. Very cheap, large portions, great food. Lunch special is only $11. It was very tasty and satisfying.

I am new to Lithgow (1 year ) and have just recently discovered Emerald Lantern, 6 times so far and not one complaint , every meal was delicious and good value as well also the service is warm and welcoming.

Good old school Chinese hard to find...and a Good NSW shandy (combination of mains and entrees ) even harder.
So after all the reviews and pics..I went there tonight.
Unfortunately...my plan to eat in was dashed thanks to covid19...so take away was in order.
I was craving a Shandy...but the combination on the menu...although appealing...wasn't my favourite 2 dishes.
The owner was only too happy to substitute and make my request.
So...2 homemade dim sims, 2 spring rolls, sweet and sour pork, beef and black bean sauce, special Fried rice....$16.80....seriously???
Definitely enough food for 2 ...I couldn't finish...and absolutely delicious.
I'd travel to Lithgow just to eat again.

My daughter and I had dinner here recently and the one thing that sticks in my mind is the portion size - they are HUGE!! The food was really good and the atmosphere was nice. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the owner herself came out to chat for a few minutes. We will be back again for sure.

Best Chinese we have had for a long time. So much food for our money. Really impressed. Nailed it. 👍

Once we established it was, in fact an authentic country town Chinese restaurant, by way of its funny little good luck fortune cat statue, waving its arm at us, we were happy to share how delicious and generous the food was!! We had prawn cocktail and mixed entree, extra hot satay beef and sweet and sour pork. Great food, great hospitality and covid safe. Thankyou!

Staff were extremely friendly and suggested the garlic beef, which was amazing! Fried rice was lovely aswell.

The food is beautiful here. Decent sized portions. Staff are friendly and welcoming. One of the nicest Chinese restaurants I have been to. You will definitely be seeing me there again!

Food is prepared to order. Haven't had a bad meal yet, very tasty and cost effective. I've been going here for over 10 years.❤

Came there for lunch and although we kinda want more rice, the dish are great and generous. Definitely recommended to eat if at Lithgow

Great food, great price, my children love their dim sims, nice and light rice, great Mongolian, friendly service, and lunch specials are the best size in town.

A group of friends and I were on our way through Lithgow and stumbled across the Emerald Lantern. This is by far not a decision any of us regretted! If you're in the area and fancy some decent priced, good chienese food - the Emerald Lantern has my recommendation.
