What a great little country pub. Food is superb, drinks are cold and the service super friendly. Definitely worth the 15 minute drive from Castlemaine.

Had the Burger last night- not something I’d usually order but definitely ordering again! Flavour was fantastic.
Always ordered either the Lamb chops or Steaks and yes recommend a drop in for these too.

Dropped in for beer at the Crown Hotel in Newstead. It's a great friendly country pub. Quite well frequented by locals, even on
a Monday! Didn't have a meal as the kitchen is open Wednesday to Sunday. Menu has a great selection of pizzas and a range of solid pub food meals. Pub is open 7 days a week. Drop in if you're passing by.

From entry to exit, the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

Food was honestly high quality, that of expectations from a high quality venue. Pricing was more then fair.

VOLCANIC - PARMA don't under estimate the spice, it is not for the weak ! But amazingly well done, compliments to the chef and the sauce maker.

Recommend all passing through or if around to stop in and support this little local !

Do not come to eat unless you have a very empty tummy, man alive - giant impressive burgers and meals. Worth travelling here just for the food!
Great service by the barman and kept the Rugrats smiling with complimentary ice cream with the kids meals.
Truly a great stop worth making!

Hot day, cold beer. Everything you need is here. Food was good, generous and fresh, nice to see greens and veg on the plates too. Nice veggie options plus a few specials.

Entering this pub is like entering a time capsule. I was reminded of the pubs I started drinking in back in the eighties. And that's all good. On tap, you can have any beer you like so long as it's Melbourne Bitter or Carlton Draught! That's a bit cheeky, there are two other taps plus a variety of bottles from the fridge.
And there's a pool table, plus a TV for watching sport. Definitely worth a stop 👍😁

Nice pub in a small town. Very cozy atmosphere, staff extra friendly , practical menu as they only serve one dish for the evening for all guests. It was Roast Night. They accept eftpos which is convenient.

Went there today very friendly staff great history of Newstead on the wall. Will be going back only went in for a Xmas drink with client who loves their food 10 /10 all round

Popped in on the way through town because daughter needed a toilet. Stayed for a beer and wish I could’ve stayed longer. Great little pub with a friendly vibe. Will head back soon.

The boys are doing a great job here. They're appropriately proud of the meals they deal up. Along with a clean been.

The guys whipped up a personal Parma & omg. The sauce, flavours in this dish was fantastic. Keep it up.

We had dinner at this cosy country pub, the meals were very well priced for what you got on the plate, service was friendly. Highly recommend going here if you are in the area

amazing pub, the food there was amazing. there was this one dude who worked there I think his name was Mitch he was amazing so friendly and inviting and truly the heart and sole of the pub I don't know what they would do with out him

Honestly, the best parma I have ever had. And I've had a lot of parmas.
