This cafe is a highlight of the area. It stands out amongst most others. Good friendly service and great food in a really nice, quiet little town. Ralph the dog was an absolute treat, such a pleasant and friendly little doggo who loves a little bit of attention but is not annoying in the slightest. I wanted to take him home, I miss him already.

Food was great and service top notch. Couldn't accommodate us at first due to CovId limits but very apologetic and as soon as there was space, we were invited inside! We didn't wait 10 minutes. We will be back again. Thanks for a nice lunch!

Delightful little cafe! Very friendly and quick service.
Vegan drink options and breakfast menu can be altered for vegan and vegetarians. Prices are decent. Beautiful set up! There is a lovely indoor area and back yard courtyard. Lots of greenery and flowers.
Will be back 🙂

Have been here a number of times and the tea is real tea not teabags so they were already off to a good start. My sister came down from Brisbane and we went for a Saturday drive so stopped off and had soup (very tasty and good sized portion) and then my son came up from Melbourne so I picked him up at Castlemaine and we stopped off at Dig for afternoon tea. The bathrooms are spotlessly clean and the cafe has a very nice tranquil atmosphere. Was interesting to see the lovely artwork on display by a local artist which also was for sale. Didn't know about the lamb shanks so will definitely have to try that next time. Unfortunately they are only open one night for dinner, can't remember if it is Friday or Saturday. Anyway, it was well worth the short drive from Bendigo.

The lamb shank was amazing! I also sampled the pizza which was great but I'm so glad I went with the lamb, so favorsome and the generous size serving of sticky date pudding went perfect with a good cafe coffee I would order again. On a cold wintery night Dig was a cosy warm oasis and a great spot to spend the evening. Thanks

Even with odd requests coming from us random customers, the whole team at Dig was so helpful with us coming in to film some shots for a film. They were so helpful and were able to provide assistance wherever possible. Food and coffee was also incredible. A must stop for heading in and around Newstead.

We stopped in for lunch after the Daylesford motorfest and we were very pleasantly surprised.

2 risottos and 1 toasty with turkey and cranberry with a side salad.

All were cooked to order and were delicious.

The ladies working here were very lovely and happy to give us a great table.

We will be back!

Great place for a quiet coffee and scone. They also have a very lovely menu and also do a breakfast menu. I personally love the scones but they also do delicious toasted sandwiches or you can have Turkish bread foccasias. If there was a star rating for 10 out of 10 that is what I would give them. The staff are very friendly and also if you are a regular they don't forget your face. Great place for a quick catch up and coffee with a friend.

Love this delightful cafe which I frequent en route to visiting a relative in Bendigo. The food is consistently good, the staff are fantastic and the specials always tempting! Do yourself a favour and check it out if you are near the area. :)

Had a beautiful lunch here yesterday, the service was lovely and friendly and food delicious. We had the haloumi frittters with the freshest garden salad, and slow cooked lamb linguine with lemon tart to finish. The highlight was the fresh brewed tea that kept arriving in teapots through the afternoon. Highly recommended

Dig Cafe has a quite comfortable feel to it as soon as you go inside. The last time I visited there was a group of people having a game of cards at one of the tables. The coffee is wonderful and the deserts are sensational 😁 I have not had a full meal there but from what I have seen go by they would also be great.
