Honeysuckles Astronomy Tours

My dad and I did a Honeysuckles Astronomy Tour last week and I would highly recommend this experience! Bruce was extremely knowledgeable, and we had some great conversations throughout the tour over a bottle of red. Thanks for a great evening Bruce, the tarantula nebula is truly something I’ll never forget!

Bruce is very knowledgeable person with so much patience and passion to show and explain us the wonders of universe. I would definitely recommend for any astronomy enthusiastic person. Had great sight of galaxies, nebula and star clusters.Accommodation is also very decent. Had great time.

Not only is The Honeysuckles a perfect location in Victoria to view the night sky but if you choose to stay for a few nights, it is only a one minute walk over the sand dunes to the gorgeous Ninety Mile Beach.

The best thing for Kids and Grownups. Never imagined seeing galaxies 7000 light Years away. The Telescope used was massive and professional (4 Meters High). The Tour Operater Bruce, was brilliant with the amount of information and Knowledge he provided was incredible. It is necessary to do thing, highly recommended to all families and Individuals. It will make one realise how small Earth is considering the size of this universe.

I booked the astronomy tour as a birthday gift for my wife and I knew from my first interaction with Bruce that we were going to have a great time.

The up-close views of the stars, planets and other celestial objects were truly remarkable. The telescope was impressive, and the house we stayed in was cozy, clean, and conveniently close to the beach.

Our host, Bruce, was fantastic. He was friendly, accommodating, and even prepared a delicious breakfast for us. We're grateful to Bruce for making our weekend getaway so enjoyable. This is an experience we won't forget.

We had such an incredible experience!! I purchased this as a birthday gift and we were not disappointed. Thank you Bruce for facilitating such a once in a lifetime experience, it's hard to pick our favourite part of the tour but Saturn, Tarantula Nebula and Orion were absolutely mesmerizing! We appreciate you taking the time to show us so many objects (with multiple lenses) and a tour that saw us see the early hours of the next day. You really took the time to ensure that we saw all we wanted to. No words but thank you and if in doubt, book yourself in for a tour! :)

My husband and I had a very enjoyable and memorable night attending the Honeysuckles Astro Tour. We have always had a casual interest in space and it was wonderful to have the opportunity to use such a magnificent telescope! Bruce was full of wisdom and mind-boggling facts about all of the sights. He was also very friendly and took a lot of time to try and capture the best views of all of the sights. Highlights included seeing Saturn and Jupiter, checking out some globular clusters (where you can see many millions of stars at once) and seeing whole galaxies (including the aptly named Sombrero Galaxy). Honeysuckles was also a great location to space-gaze and the view of the night sky was incredible from there.

Truly an out-of-this-world experience!

Tour 2 - A great way to spend a Saturday evening. Even managed to read the instructions on my Fuji X-T30 II and capture a few pictures. Thanks for the 2nd tour, Bruce. Can't believe we got to see Saturn & Jupiter so clearly.

Tour 1 - My wife brought the tour for myself and my daughter as a Christmas gift. The tour, for us as newbies to a telescope, was fantastic. Bruce’s knowledge of astronomy was first class and the objects that we saw were unbelievable. This was an absolutely fantastic tour and Bruce was a great host. We will certainly go back for more!

This astronomy tour was fantastic! I booked this because my partner loves space, and I also throughly enjoyed it too. The galaxies, stars and other objects that we were lucky enough to see close up, were phenomenal. The telescope was very impressive and the house was cozy, inviting, clean and super close to the beach. We loved our stay and experience, and Bruce was an awesome host! Very warm, fun and energetic - Bruce cooked us a beautiful breakfast in the morning also.
We can’t thank Bruce enough for the experience, we loved our weekend getaway!

It's difficult to describe how good the tour was, "simply amazing" is the closest I can get.

Bruce worked really hard under challenging weather and cosmic conditions to give us the best experience possible which he achieved. We experienced some of the highlights of our local solar system and gazed further into the universe viewing nebula 12 million light years away.

We booked the astronomy tour and the 2 night additional stay (to make a mini break out of our trip over the long weekend). It was wonderful! Bruce (and Roughy!) is a great host - showing us the stars and helping us all (we had our kids - 9 and 12 with us) understand what we were seeing. Who knew there were triple stars out there!?! We then had a couple of days in the morning sun drenched house happily lazing about reading books, walking on the beach and kids / pup playing in the backyard. The beach is literally 30 seconds walk from the back of the house and you can fall asleep hearing the waves. We have some great pics taken by Bruce to remember our stay.

Our astronomy tour was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience!! Bruce was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. We loved our experience at the honeysuckles astronomy tour!

We had an amazing overnight stay with Bruce. I knew the stargazing would be great, but it far exceeded my expectations. The skies cleared at exactly the right time and we saw and learned so much. I was in awe that we were able to see objects millions of light years away. Bruce is friendly, easy to talk to and so knowledgeable about space. Overall, a wonderful host (with his lovely dog Roughy). He whips up a mean omelet in the morning which is exactly what you feel like after a long walk on the beach.The beach house is cosy and so close to the beach, I wish we could have stayed longer. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who has even an inkling of interest in the night skies. Thanks Bruce!

We had a great experience watching planets, nebulas and star forming regions millions of light years away. It was a once in a life time experience and Bruce is an excellent host and very knowledgeable!
Bruce’s beautiful property opens onto the ninety mile beach and the sunrise is something you can’t miss!

My wife and I stayed at Bruce's Honesuckles home for 3 nights to do the astronomy tour with Bruce. Bruce has one of the largest (reflective, Newtonian) telescopes in probably the entire state of Victoria, and it can be used to see faint galaxies and even structures inside other galaxies like the Tarantula Nebula. What you will see through this telescope will be a religious experience and teaches humility about our place in the universe.

Honeysuckles itself is the best place to see the milky way and the neighboring galaxies the Magellanic Clouds with the naked eye.

The beach is pristine and over many days you'd be lucky if you see anyone else on the beach.

It is impossible to replicate this experience anywhere else on Earth.

We also loved the beach, and the house was comfortable and clean.

Got to enjoy a night great night out under the stars. Lovely chats with Bruce while we were waiting for clouds to clear, but we finally got there! Absolutely fantastic experience, great cozy place right on the beach, and even better omelettes. Will return again and make it a longer stay during summer!

What a fantastic experience! We booked a 1 night stay and enjoyed every second of it. From the time spent on the beach, to the evening BBQ (and morning omelette), and of course the evening looking up into the heavens - it was something to remember! Bruce was great to chat to and ask questions about the night sky. The views you can see through the telescope - and the naked eye - are mind blowing. Nothing else like it!
