One of the top restaurants in Adelaide, surely. A great experience at a classy yet casual venue. Food is excellent, I especially recommend the beef skewers, the sauce that they come in is so good we asked to keep it to have with our mains, too. Decent portions, but make sure you order rice on the side with any curries. A must try for Thai lovers in Adelaide.

A must to book as it was packed on Wednesday night.
We had the $65 per person two course menu. Fabulous food and the waiter was very helpful, explaining each dish. I thought the wine menu was expensive though.
Food came out quickly, well presented and very tasty. Perfect.

We loved the food a lot. All menu is gluten free friendly except for bread. Highly recommend. Additional points for how well designed the place is. Also appreciate the open kitchen!

Just went there last Monday for our 18th anniversary dinner. It was recommended and didn’t disappoint. Food was sensational. Great flavours and good portions. Our servers were fantastic. Seriously great service. Awesome knowledge of the menu and certainly personalised the experience for us and acknowledged our anniversary by shouting a couple glasses of bubbles to start. I will definitely come back here. Plenty more to try on the menu.

Update Jan2024, another great meal for our dietary restriction challenged family. Waitress was patient and explained all options. Thank you!
Outstanding. One of the most welcoming & accomodating restaurants we have been to. Oscar the maitre d’ sets the bar extremely high, he ensured we have had an enjoyable night out and an amazing meal, noting our difficult dietary requirements on two occasions now. The restaurant has a cool modern vibe, as does the menu, there is plenty to choose from. The wine list is extensive and caters for everyone, although I would appreciate more local wines. Looking forward to returning for more!

Great Thai food. Highly recommend the chive cakes and dumplings as starters. Followed by the duck and goat curry. Finished off with the mango rice pudding, you will definitely be happy.

We had to wait a while for our booking, however, the staff were very accomodating and apologetic. So make sure you book or go on a quieter night :)

this place is so gorgeous and the food was so tasty ! the staff were very kind and accommodating and there were so many vegetarian alternatives plus an amazing drinks menu. cauliflower curry with sticky rice was out of this world. and the roti was perfectly flaky, warm and crispy. I’ve been wanting to find a great Thai place in Adelaide and now I cannot wait to come back, I can’t stop thinking about it!

I had a wonderful meal and business meeting at this restaurant. The food was excellent and yummy using very fresh ingredients in their cooking. As a big eater, the portions seems small, but more than sufficient. Would definitely come back when I'm back in town.

Service was fantastic, the waitresses were attentive and friendly. Ambience was good for a Tuesday evening. Food was outstanding, the best Massaman curry I have ever experienced in Adelaide.

Possibly one of the pricier but best Thai food I've tasted to date.

Betel leaf with blue swimmer crab + lime - wow ! A perfect marriage of flavours.

Sago mushroom dumplings with coconut cream - skin of the dumplings is a little on the thicker side but the coconut cream made up for it.

Pork scotch fillet red curry - pork was tender, red curry isn't the usual red curry found in most thai restaurants. It's fragrant and consistency is much lighter.

Thanks chefs & the lovely service crew whom explained the menu in great lengths.

Soi 38 has some really excellent Thai dishes worthy of its higher price range.
I went on a Wednesday night with in a group of 4 and about 2/3 of the tables were dined. We order a number of dishes to try and share as a group and didn’t really hold back.

Grilled beef skewers were good but otherwise standard.
Sago peanut dumplings were nice but in our opinion the gelatinous dumpling layer could have been a bit thinner or more filling to balance the ratio of dumpling skin to filling.
Papaya salad was great and embodied all the sweet, salty, sour, and spicy flavours. Nice and refreshing.

The pork jowl salad is one of the dishes I recommend to get if you don’t mind eating pork fat. Very tasty and well seasoned.
The pad Thai chicken is another recommended dish and one of the best pad Thai’s I’ve had. A good level of spicy and although pictures look like just a regular pad Thai it is far from it. Mix all the ingredients in and $30 may seem like a bit much but it was well worth it.
The bbq chicken is also recommended dish and had a great sauce to on the plate to dip in. You get a whole chicken so a good one to share.

The green curry with beef was not a good dish. The beef was very dry and tough. The curry barely had any flavour.
The sticky rice was also rather dry but otherwise edible.

We also had one of the desserts. The sticky date pudding but we swapped the cinnamon sorbet for coconut sorbet. It was nice and sweet in contrast to the dinner. I personally would have liked if the sorbet scoop was bigger.

Overall would go again to try the other dishes given that the hit/miss rate is well in favour of good.

Wow, authentic Thai cuisine with the actual Thai Street hawker feel combined with modern interior aesthetics. Truly one of the best spots in town for Thai food.

Great real Thai food in a nice small venue with an open kitchen, surprisingly it wasn't too loud considering all the hard surfaces.
When we went it was very busy so a booking is required, they also do the usual 6-6:30pm sitting and then a 8-8:30pm sitting.
Staff were attentive and really friendly, for the 2 of us we got 2 starters, 2 mains, rice, nan and 2 drinks each and it was about $150. We were happy with that.
The red goat curry was the standout dish.

Exceptional and authentic Thai food.

Been put off by the prices for this place in the past (pad thai is $29 and red curry is $33) but putting that to one side, it's a beautiful food experience. So glad we came.

Classy Thai restaurant. Exotic flavors and excellent service. We were lucky to get a table as this place is booked out in advance. The dishes we ordered were all delicious - spring rolls (the sauce was divine), eggplant and chicken massaman curry. Their wine list compliments very well. We had the pino Grigio but noticed few other guests seem to enjoy the signature cocktail (maybe next time for us). The service was excellent with friendly and professional staff. Highly recommend to book in advance
Ps: they don’t do takeaway at this restaurant

Flawless! We loved everything about Soi38 from the friendly service, to the ambience created by the fabric hanging from the ceiling, to the open kitchen but most importantly the food. Everything had a slight twist which made it exciting, fresh and kept us salivating. Loved it!

After careful consideration we choose Soi38 for our anniversary dinner. This might be the best Thai restaurant in the Adelaide. All the dishes were super yum and helpful staff made our choice very easy. We will definitely consider to go back again.

Contemporary Thai cuisine in a modern space, with friendly and responsive front of house. The food was delightful in plating, size and taste. Worthy competition for the likes of Golden Boy and Von Thai.

Don’t miss this place. Finally Adelaide has genuine Regional Thai food with punch. Very comfortable setting and wonderful service. We’ve been 3 times in a week because I wanted to introduce an Adelaide gem to friends and family who miss travelling to Thailand. This is the real deal. Lots of healthy options as well as vegan. We had amazing Duck, kangaroo tail curry and lovely crab on bettle leaf. The jackfruit & eggplant green curry was also outstanding ♥
