The Retreat was the perfect one day caravan trip from the Gold Coast and although we arrived on a rainy day our hosts were wonderful in directing us to a peaceful campsite where we settled in for the night well satisfied. We recommend The Retreat to anyone wanting a wonderful place to stay well away from any city influences.

Cabins are too cold in the winter. There is ac, but the old box type, not very economical or efficient. Need wood heaters. Everything else is perfect for a bush getaway

We stayed here recently on our drive from Townsville to Adelaide - spent two nights here to break up the drive and get a few refreshing nights’ sleep.
Colin & Vanessa have a great set up here. Choices of cabins, caravan spots or swag/DIY set up. Excellent amenities block, nice and clean, laundry facilities available. Lots of space to take the dogs for a walk.
Minimal phone service (but wifi available if you need it) so a fantastic place to disconnect from the world for a few days and relax.
An excellent spot, not too far from either Miles or Chinchilla. Recommend heading to the Historical Village in Miles - it’s also dog friendly!
We will definitely stay here again next time we are in this part of the country.

Best 3 days. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. It was so quiet and relaxing. The amenities were always clean and the cabin was cosy. If you love photography, you'll love it as there is so much to capture. I can't wait to return

An amazing place to camp! You get used to the mozzie but it doesn't compare to catching a Yellow Belly after everyone says it hasn't been done in a while! Toilet and shower facilities were clean and well kept. Plenty of camp sites around, owner says you can go anywhere on his land to camp and use the wood around you for fire! Recommend 100%

Great place. Owners friendly, bush walks, camping, power or unpowered, cabins available. Catering available for groups. Take all your own water due to drought, showers available they ask for short showers due to drought. Pet friendly. Dirt road in was in very good condition when we were there.
Google needs an option to go to your other photos on facebook. I'm not downloading photos all the time to put on reviews.

A perfect place to get lost in the bush...you just need to get ready for some bush-attitude from the people here.

No internet is available which is good sometimes as people can give more time to their beloved friends or partners. But, bad thing is...the mobile internet doesn't work properly when you need it for some urgent purposes.

Camp in your own van or tent or stay in a fully equipped cottage, great bush walks, gorge exploration and fishing and catching yabbies,,,,quiet and relaxed and friendly camp suitable for all. Has Telstra wifi and good roads..

A great place to get away from it all and relax. Really reasonable prices. If you want a place to chill out, this is it.

Tranquillity...amenities and cabins available... organise a group booking and you may get treated with some awesome home cooking!!

This place is fantastic. Clean facilities and accommodation. Nice and relaxing. Great for a dark site for those with a telescope

A lovely relaxing place to stay. Comfortable accomodation with lovely views. Great for the dog. Night sky is incredible. Would have loved to stay longer.

Quiet, relaxing. You can do absolutely nothing or you can get out there and enjoy nature
