Absolutely incredible. I am still astounded by this place - like stepping back in time. The details, the hard work, the quality of that work - it's magic. So much to do and see, we barely left the property - a testament to 40 years of work, well done to Bernie, Scott and team.

In terms of a stay, the beds were comfy, heating throughout and it really does have everything you need - even for cooking, we bought a bunch of things we thought we'd need but didn't. Just turn up and enjoy.

John, your caretaker, was very thorough in his tour and welcoming. The kitchen was spotless and everything was supplied. The linen and beds were 5 star quality, very comfortable. The meticulously restored carriages offered all the mod cons without spoiling their historical beauty. Highly recommended to every discerning traveller.

Spectacular location with amazing views. Absolutely surreal staying on a train. The carriages a kept in their original authentic state. It's an adventure trying to find which light switch turns on the lights you're after. The caretakers are super friendly and helpful. Would absolutely recommend this anyone looking for something different in the Mudgee area. Will definitely come back

Spectacular! Great concept; like the Orient Express landed on Cooks Gap! Great railway history, beautifully presented, fantastic accommodation and a sensational view!

Wow. What a magical place. You don't have to be a train buff to appreciate all the beauty and work that's gone into this place. 40+ years of ingenuity and engineering to create something quite unique. And it's all positioned perfectly on top of a ridge looking over the lands and mountains below. Kitchen well equipped, regal looking rooms and comfy beds, TVs, games rooms, gas and wood BBQs. A++.
