Big Thankyou to the lady in the visitor centre.
After having looked around the most beautiful park we noticed a weld had broken on our van so back into info centre to ask for a local welder. Off we went following her instructions to find Jack Green waiting for us. Pulling straight into workshop to be fixed and on our way.
Thankyou once again to the lovely lady in the info centre. 😊

Really helpful tourist information office. Set in the memorial park for the Mary Kathleen mining town with interesting exhibits. They can also sort out fossicking licences for Queensland and even provide maps of where to go gold detecting and fossicking for gems and geology specimens.

Camped with friends in old town for a week, explored the old mine site. Also went for a drive to Corella Dam.

Very helpful staff and an amazing museum covering Cloncurry history, aboriginal artifacts, Mary Katherine Mine, a huge rock collection, history of Burke and Wills, and much much more. Really enjoyed the experience and I highly recommend it as a Cloncurry must do. It was a highlight of my trip :)

The lady behind the counter was very informative. We then walked through the museum and were amazed by the extensive collection of rocks all clearly labeled. There was also a lot of local history to keep you informed. Well worth the visit.

Loved it - we always learn so much about an area when we visit centres like this. It's so much more than just the tourist info centre.

cloncurry needs to build a water park like Richmond so travelling familes and local families can go to relax and enjoy a cooling environment. if you built the water park near town/ fast food supermarket people would STOP and spend money. make sure people can park off road so no one travelling needs to cross the road to get to the water park. maybe if the town invested in a "subway" near the new water park people would stop. oh yes - one more thing - you need to allow access to local hills/ mountains so people stop to take in the view. do these things and people will stop and spend money.
