I had a great experience doing the "Art and Science of Beekeeping" 1-day course. Mike gave a very informative morning of lectures on bee lifecycle and how to spot common pests and diseases, and I was in a group of 6 so there was plenty of scope to ask questions and explore the topics. We also had a session outside where we could look at many different hive designs and learn about how they work.

We had delicious homemade pizza and mead for lunch, and then went up to the apiary for a hands-on experience. I got to open up a hive using a smoker, find the queen bee and check overall hive health, and because I don't have a protective outfit I was able to borrow one. We also saw some hives in various stages of development, and learnt a lot about how to manage swarming.

Overall I learnt so much about bees and beekeeping and now feel very confident in getting my own hive! Mike is an expert and has so much knowledge from years of active beekeeping. Would recommend this course, even if you've already started beekeeping you will learn a lot.

Had two hives. Needed tools and some wisdom. Mike from Bindaree walked me up to his shed and I proceeded to buy thirteen hundred bucks of equipment, I was that impressed. Mike is patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Quiet and covered in bee stings; a real beekeeper.
Came home and proceeded to take one lid off one hive. Ten kilos of honeycomb from one lid alone (burr comb honey)....wow. The bees *have* been busy. Madness. Fun madness, you know? I'm still grinning like an idiot.
Thanks Mike. You've made this one of the most fun days in my adult life so far. Bindaree Bees is awesome.

In my experience Bindaree Bee Supplies have always been helpful and had the supplies I required. They have also been available on weekends if you call ahead.

This man loves his bee's. If you want to learn about bees go here, the bloke is off center but the man knows his bees. Good course.

We attended your Art and Science Of beekeeping course last weekend with a little disappointment on what was presented and advertised in your brief prior and post booking.
The room and equipment used for presentation not everyone could see or hear computer monitor even when I moved to see I was blocking someone else .
Workshop area was a WHS issue a lady pick up powered staple gun attempted to use when staple fired out hitting table and then into my shoe.
We also wanted to purchase hive and bees but this was not the case.
There was mead making or how to make as advertised - taste test was 1 variety no option on what you would like to try and no information.
Morning tea provided- tea/coffee (cold) no other choice- day 1 we received 1 biscuit day2 we received nothing.
As you are aware this course was not cheap.
