Had a wonderful time and tasting experience. The staff were very informative and friendly. The vineyard had an amazing variety of wines with award winning trophies. 🏆 Buying 3 bottles ended up in our wine tasting being free!! Looking forward to visiting in the future. Highly recommend 🍷

Up there with the top 3 wine tastings that we have done in Vic/SA!! We were hosted by Sue, and I would like to say, what a pleasure! A very informative and personable experience. Sue took the time to ask our personal tastes and then challenged us with new and varied varieties of whites, reds and fortified wines, some of the best in the region! Pffeifers wines estate is not only a beautiful, cared for property but a true gem for a day out or wine enthusiasts.

I booked a classification tasting for 4 people in addition to the table wine tasting. It was INCREDIBLE value and we spent 2.5 very happy hours tasting wines and chatting to the friendly and excellent staff. Winemaker Jen Pfeiffer is an absolute delight and truly is the soul of the place. She is passionate about her craft and takes great pleasure and pride in sharing it with visitors. Jen led us through the classification tasting where we tasted topaques and muscats that were 5, 10, 18 and 28 years old. It’s a masterclass and you see the difference in the colour and flavour as they age. We had rows of glasses in front of us as we did comparisons between the different topaques and muscats trying to decide which liquid gold to buy. Honestly it’s truly sensational.
During our time at Pfeiffer we were additionally helped by Amir, Geoff and Kylie and all are great advocates of their brand.

We purchased 16 bottles - a range of table wines, port, muscat & topaque including a grand (18 year old) topaque.

This was our second experience of the classification tasting having done one twelve months earlier and just had to repeat it.

Book it, allow plenty of time to relax & enjoy it.

Pfeiffer wines also have a beautiful garden and a bridge over the creek with resident tortoises. The views are really special and you can buy a bottle to take down to the bridge to enjoy sitting and looking at the view.

Kylie our host was no only very knowledgeable but also super hospitable. And did I mentioned that the wine was exquisit?
Do yourself a favour and visit Pfeiffer pfor a pfabulous wine tasting when in the Rutherglen area!
And our dogs loved it too!

One of the best cellar door experiences! Highly recommend!! We were served by Amir, and he was so knowledgeable and passionate about the wines. He was also so kind with our children (8yo and 6yo) and gave them a cordial tasting experience and spent time with them explaining the cordials, that they had a great time too and felt part of it. On top of that, it is a beautiful property and lovely wines! Also, the grazing platter was incredible, very generous servings and very tasty!

🤩🤩🤩 Been enjoying Jen Pfeiffer branded wines for years and what an honour to meet the lady herself today at her father's winery in Wahgunyah. No one knows these wines better than Jen. Thank you Jen it was a great experience to have you personally host our wine tasting experience today 😊🍷🥂❤. We hope to catch you again next year.

This was one of the nicest wine tasting experiences ever!! My family and I had a kind and informed man named Geoff who walked us through the history of the establishment and how the wines were made, as well as assisting and educating us on the variations and distinct tastes in each wine. A wonderful experience, and I strongly suggest for any individuals or families to visit

We visited today (Wednesday) and had the pleasure of Jean talking us through a tasting. Both educational and an all around great time, Jean was great! Wish we could have spent more time chatting but had a lunch booking. Hope to be back one day in future. Also - fantastic wines. Riesling was a must try. Beautiful grounds, amazing people. Also- happy birthday to your sheep Jean! 🥳🥳

Loved visiting the winery after trying so many amazing wines. Meeting Jen was a huge highlight too. Wines are really standouts for the region. Definitely a beautiful winery and well worth the visit

Truly memorable experience. Spent the afternoon with a tasting and cheese board. The wines would easily be the best in the region (hands down) and the service was fun, personable and educational. I chose the World Class Fortified Tasting ($30) and was very fortunate to have Chris guide me through the 15 wines on offer. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone who is even slightly interested in fortifieds as it certainly opened my eyes (or rather, taste buds) to the glorious variety available.

We booked a 2hr wine tasting experience with Pfiffer wines and enjoyed every minute! We were guided by Jean, she was incredibly informative, knowledgeable and personable. Each wine we tasted was exceptional in its own way. Although we mostly drink reds, there were many other varieties we explored and some of these astounded us. Many wines available have won several awards. We have enjoyed wines from the Pfiffer vineyards in the past often purchasing Jen Pfiffer Rock it like a Redhead through Naked Wines so it was lovely to actually have opportunity and time to visit the winery. The seating experience at a wine barrel is brilliant and allows you to just enjoy everything so much more. Due to closing time we had to move on but staff were extremely accommodating inviting us to enjoy some more time on the Sunday bridge and gave us food to feed the turtles in the river. We will savour each drop of wine from each bottle we purchased that little bit more and will use our Pfiffer shiraz tea towel proudly. Dan & Helen.

If you only visit one winery in Rutherford, make it Pfeiffer!

We arrived at Pfeiffer after a pretty ordinary experience with A** S***ts, and when I read the sign board talking about 1.5hr-3hr tasting sessions, I was a little hesitant. But Amir chatted to us, asked us how long we had to spend, and what we were interested in, talked us through how the sessions here work, and we decided to do the $35 fortified tasting experience

We have never had such an amazing time at a cellar door. Amir's passion and authenticity shone through, and the quality of the wines we tried were exceptional. We were guided through the differences and similarities in the blends, and our own taste preferences were acknowledged and understood, not minimised.

It was such an enjoyable time, we were more than happy to buy some of our favourites at the cellar door, and knowing that anywhere else was never likely to impress us as much, we cancelled our plans to visit a few other wineries in Rutherglen and went to Beechworth instead.

Wonderful family winery with a huge range of excellent wines. We had the most enjoyable tasting experience led by Alex, who was friendly, knowledgeable, good- humoured and just an all round good host. The kids will love the Sunday Creek bridge and the turtles waiting for their feed, and there are plenty of birds to watch. We ended up spending most of the day there enjoying the atmosphere.

We had such a fun homely wine tasting experience at Pfeiffer Wines on our way back to Canberra. We did not make a booking but walked in and on a busy weekend they managed to find us a table and made us really comfortable whilst they explained the wines. Rather than telling us what we should try they asked about the wines we liked to drink and then they suggested some of their wines that we might like. We got to rate each wine we tasted with a smiley face which was really fun and different. The actually cellar door was set into a beautiful old brick building. The grounds around the vineyard were carefully maintained and there is an old historic bridge you can walk to to see views over a nearby river. The wine was great but the experience overall and the people made it so worth the drive.
