Nice and clean room. Friendly and Efficient staff. Highly recommend their food from their restaurant, huge portion, perfectly cooked steak.

Looked promising. However they wouldn't let me park my light truck in front of my room. My truck was full of our belongings and couldn't park it elsewhere. Very pleasant appearance. We would've been happy to stay.

Pet friendly out doors. Walked across from caravan park, which meant we could enjoy a lovely glass of red! The meal was delicious, we had steak & veg. Other guest had mushroom gnocci which she said was very good. Nice mild night to sit out under verandah, thankyou for being pet friendly.

After a long drive the only stressful thing was it was located the other end of town!

Off the main road so cannot be missed, our trip was over Easter and they weren't messing rural towns close for Easter

Driving through we barely saw a soul or open shop
Checking in was easy, staff were amazing, warm friendly and knowledgeable. They must have seen the hunger and fear in out eyes they were quick to inform us the restaurant was open for 3 hours and the bar opening soon

Giving us time to check out the facilities, the rooms, have all been redone recently, everything was new, well kept, clean

The beds like sleeping on clouds, we had a lovely view of a field. We had neighbours but couldn't hear anything through the walls

The bathroom was spacious and roomy, good toiletries and wide range of options I wasn't disappointed, strong fan, good lighting for make-up. The water pressure on the shower was good so you can get a good clean. I really liked the half wall you walk behind the shower so you still have some privacy, even when your mate busts in for a emergency loo brake

It has a small laundry facility only one washer and dryer for 30 rooms, would be a nightmare if more than one person wanted it but had it to myself, take some gold coins to use it (they have plenty behind the bar if needed)

The bar and restaurant were amazing
We had duck rolls, I have steak with chipa and salad and the BEST peppercorn sauce. I would have happily ordered a tub of the stuff and my mate kept stealing it,

My friend on the other hand, ate a classic parma and from the clean plate in 60 seconds it was a hit

Order the cab sav, can't remeber the name but delicious

Again I can't fault the staff, it was a family affair but that was such a nice touch and were more than accommodating with all our requests

Great accommodation in "the Curry" - the team were genuinely friendly and obliging, and, to a person, showed professionalism and courtesy. The meal was just perfect as well! Cooked to perfection and couldn't possibly improve on it. Thanks team Gidgeeinn and see you next time

We are very glad that we booked here. Very spacious rooms with all the mod cons. Free hi speed wifi.
The resident cook creates wholesome meals that fill the belly.
A dish to recommend is his mouthwatering lamb shank.

Gidget Inn is about 1km away from the middle of town. It has a outdoor pool and a cafe/bar grill restaurant. The room has a kettle for hot drinks, fridge, and TV. The best thing about the stay was the bed. It is one of the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. It comes with extremely smooth bed sheets (that must be made of very high thread counts). The large toilet is large. The adjoining shower is on the other side of a 1.8m wall. The water that comes out of the shower head sprayed in all directions. It probably has a lot of lime scales built up. Hence, not very good water pressure. The towels provided are rather thin and some are even threading on the sides. But they are clean. Also, they cleaned my room, took my used towels away and never replaced them. I had to go to the reception to ask for clean towels.

Gidgee Inn is a great place to stay in 'The Curry '. Rooms are spotless, staff are great and the meals very nice. Rooms are quiet despite being so close to the highway. Undercover parking outside your room and room to park if you have a boat/ trailer. Happy to recommend.

I had crispy skin salmon and Hubby had steak topped with garlic prawns...both perfectly cooked. Service was excellent and friendly. Just had dinner and stayed in the van Park across the road.

Pros: The Gidgee is easily the best accommodation in Cloncurry. Spacious, comfortable rooms, working AC, a great bar and an excellent restaurant. Stay the night and have a steak! Cons: Stayed twice in the last year, both times in different rooms and both times with a broken lock on the door. Slept with the chain holding the door shut. A bit unnerving to be honest...

We had a great experience, friendly staff that went out of their way to assist us , great food and cold beers - 5 stars !

After booking into another motel and finding it terrible we decided to get a refund and head to Gidgee Inn. Not only were the staff amazing but the rooms were spotless and extremely comfortable. We can't thank you enough for your hospitality. Thank you!

Staff was friendly and efficient. The coffee and snacks were delicious. The place is pretty and well designed. It's one of my favorite places in Cloncurry.
