I've had many different dishes over the years and the food has always been excellent. Coffee well extracted and delicious, whether going for black or white. Perfect little brunch spot on the edge of the east Adelaide foothills. Highly recommend.

i can say that this is the best cafe in Burnside. foods and coffees are fantastic!!! the vibes make everything more cozy and comfortable. also, pet friendly where you can easily find lovely dogs there 🥺

This place has amazing food - the brunch options are almost overwhelming, they are so good! Mum had the Charred fig & walnut loaf, salted cinnamon panela butter. She LOVES that - has had it many times. I ordered the Turkish bun, halloumi, free range egg, pickled onion, apple slaw, lime aioli, but swapped the bun for some greens, which was super easy - how nice, for a change! And it was DELICIOUS! Mum had some fun with coffee - she normally drinks long black, but felt like a change so opted for filtered coffee, not realising that it wouldn’t be super hot. Our waiter was ever so lovely & understanding, & offered the option to swap it for no charge, so mum tried a flat white, given my husband had rated this highly here. And she was not disappointed 🤩

The service is ALWAYS excellent here - the staff are super switched on - they were run off their feet this visit - & yet they were still great to deal with & didn’t miss a beat. A lovely spot in the leafy foothills of Adelaide.

By far my #1 brunch spot in Adelaide. We have been coming almost weekly for a year or more, and the menu is spot on, it changes seasonally too which is nice - beautiful food & wonderful staff! They don't take bookings.. but even at their busiest, we probably only wait 10-15 mins or so, definitely worth the wait. Enjoying the broccoli & labne at the moment, but can't go wrong with anything - highly recommend!

Never knew this quaint cafe existed until today. Some fortunate events and I happened to pass by. Off the main roads and situated in a leafy and lovely part of the suburb, you feel quite relaxed here.

The coffee was good. Food wise, the ham cheese croissant had a generous filling, which was nicely toasted. I'll have to come back and taste some more off the menu.

For dog owners, there was a water bowl outside. Guess pooches are welcome, too.

On another occasion, I had the double cheeseburger. Oozing cheese and excellent flavours are inside this tall delight.

Great friendly staff, attentive service. Often busy but rarely have to wait for a table more than 15mins even if a queue. Vibe and decor is great. Food is always delicious and not standard boring options. Beautifully presented. Their jam is a fave in our house. Pet friendly is a bonus and they have lots of warm rugs for chilly days if seated outside. Such a lovely cafe.

PS. Was taking some photos near the counter and walked out forgetting to pay, almost went to the car and then remembered and came back to pay. The whole cafe probably knew we walked out without paying other than us 🤣They were pretty nice about it 😍

Cute and cosy cafe which offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Coffee was great. My husband had the steak sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. My friend and I shared the Turkish bun and breakfast gnocchi which were both delicious, except the gnocchi was quite rich so I'm glad we shared half-half. The chips were perfectly crispy and had the right amount of salt 👌

Great local coffee shop and cafe. A favourite post ride stop off always serving great coffee from early in the morning. Often busy and always inviting.

Corn ribs, romesco, smoked insalata ricotta, charred almond, crispy parsley: absolutely delicious! Perfectly grilled. The romesco sauce was excellent, and I loved the charred almond 🤤🤤.

Grilled broccolini, garlic butter, roasted hazelnut: wow wow wow these are some of the best grilled broccolini I've ever had! I think the roasted hazelnuts sealed the deal for me 😍😍.

Ortiz anchovy, dehydrated lemon, charred turkish: I like anchovies, but I feel like serving a tin of anchovies is a bit meh. Good toasted bread though. Would've been nicer if this was slightly more creative 🤷.

Breakfast gnocchi, chorizo, heirloom tomato, chilli, kale, poached egg, basil lemon pagrattato: oh these gnocchi were divine! Super soft and pillowy 🤤🤤. Just a little bit spicy to make it interesting!

Spicy fried chicken, gochujang aioli, pickled cucumber, crispy shallot: not quite the typical Korean fried chicken, but they did their spin on it! The batter is light and crispy, and the chicken was super tender. Just a bit of heat ☺.

Chargrilled squid, native finger lime, coriander, fermented chilli: super tender! A little bit on the bland side, but still really nicely done. Maybe because we had it after the fried chicken, which had a much bolder flavour 😜😜.

Had a wonderful bottomless brunch here for my bday! Tom who served us was wonderful and the food was also perfect for sharing along with some delicious drinks. The venue is also stunning. Will have to come back for brunch again soon!

Easily some of the best coffee and breakfast food in Adelaide. Staff are friendly. Customers are always friendly too! The atmosphere is great...HOWEVER, this is not the place to go for a private conversation. Super inviting also can look like tables crowded in on each other. Having said that, still one of our favourite places in Adelaide, just not when I'm in an introverted mood 😁 we love Lockwood General!

Lockwood General's boozy brunch is DEFINITELY one of the best going around.
This venue is one of my absolute faves.
Our waiter Tom was sensational in not only making sure our glasses were never empty but was engaging & it was a joy to have him look after us.

If is fantastic to see a quality small business like this kick off. It is even better that they are just around the corner and their food and coffee are amazing!! This is a must visit any time of day.

Incredible cuisine, with even better coffee. The modern interior makes you feel very much at home and really compliments the fantastic service. The attention to detail is next level and there's nothing like it in the Burnside area!

The food was excellent, we just ordered far too much! Table space inside is a bit limited with one larger table a few side tables but there were also a number of tables set up outside. We tried the cured salmon, Mascarpone and fennel and tom yum fried chicken and fries. Shared plate size was generous. Didn't have coffee as we had to head off - next time. Brunch options looked good too

Lovely atmosphere and food. I had the nutella croissant. The staff were very friendly, greeting us at the door and asking us about our experience once we'd finished. Recommend visiting this local cafe in Burnside!
