I’ve never written a review before but I had such a great experience here that I thought I should come on here and give it its well deserved 5 stars. So the cinema is BACK but not just as a cinema, out the front is a laid back cafe and preloved clothes shop! The staff were so warm and funny and my hot chocolate was very tasty. I will definitely be back next week to try the wet chai.

Saw a preview of the Gawler episode of Off the Couch with Ethan. The temperature within the cinema was just right and the seats comfortable. Booster cushions are available for the younger members of the family. Snack bar staff were friendly and weren't pushy trying to upsell purchases. Toilets are clean. Great that there are chairs to sit on while waiting for the cinema to open. Speaker system inside the cinema isn't too loud. This cinema is a hidden gem.

Attended a Silver Screening and thoroughly enjoyed the morning tea and light lunch. Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable seats and was able to park right outside the door.

Lovely staff, lovely theatre. We were the only two in the theatre but is was just before Christmas. So we had a private screening. 😂 thankyou to everyone at the cinema. You will be sadly missed. 😥

Sadly, the changing economics of the film business means these cinemas are doomed. These cinemas are for sale, with vacant possession, but the ads don't suggest them as as an ongoing business.

If you are nearby, or want to make one last visit, you probably need to visit very soon. The last day before closing seems to be January 29, 2023.

Love this Cinema it has good energy about the place I love the style I feel Im back in time. It feels like a real treat I wouldnt want to go to any other. I am lactose and celiac and can seem to only enjoy their popcorn without troubble. I love it so much I buy another bucket on way out for later. I notice they also have some fresh fruit as an option at candy bar I think its brilliant for those like me who cant have candy but looking for something sweet. They have wheel chair acess and booster seats at the front in the cinima you can grab for your child to easily see the screen. Chairs are comfortable with cup holders on arm rest. Toilets are allways easily acessable clean and tidy.
I love this cinima its very welcoming and I feel safe here and would never want anything to change about this place. The staff are friendly and helpful. I cant wait to come back again soon. Thinking to come more often with the family as a regular treat. X

It's great to be able to go to the cinema again!
I went with a group and had the morning tea prior, then after a light lunch, which was sandwiches and coffee.
Very welcoming staff, including a 'Dad Joke'.

Way better than expected. Like any other cinema but less central. Great customer service and choice in foods and drinks. Theatre itself was pretty big with great sound and picture. Would recommend

I love this small family run cinema. The decor is dated now, but this adds to its charm. It has an extremely relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You can have an alcoholic drink before the show. They try to match the bigger cinemas on price, but as you'd expect, this makes the snack bar as expensive as any cinema. They show many of the mainstream movies.

One of the best cinemas around. The screens are big and first rate. The staff are friendly. The venue and utilities are very clean. It was a pleasure to take my daughter to see beauty and the beast in a awesome cinema.
Recommend for all families.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The facility has wheelchair access via a ramp near the adjoining carpark. Just one word to the staff and they quickly move to open the door to allow wheelchair access. They then go ahead to usher wheelchair patrons in to best access the theatre.

The Gawler cinema is quite a fine venue, one of which I would go with friends and family. The atmosphere is quite quaint and oft are you greeted kindly. The price of food is hefty, although this is negated, ever so effectively by the abnormally low price of movie tickets. Perhaps the only spoiler would be the occassional crying child, although such is virtually impossible to avoid. Overall this venue is family friendly, affordable and well worth your while to visit, or, in other, fresher terms; "fully sick, mate."

We love going to the cinema, movies are always better on the big screen. Great location, good prices and nice friendly staff. Support our local businesses.

I didn't go to the flicks today, because all six movies were directed at the pre-teen sector of the market - it being early afternoon during school holidays.
But staff were cheerful and friendly, and happily advized us of future directions in their program.
I look forward to returning.

Always clean and staff are always very friendly! I love the fact they encourage local events at the cinema. What's not to love about a cinema that allows you to enjoy an alcoholic beverage whilst watching a movie!

Gawler Cinema is the best old and classic style cinema around. It is conveniently located in the heart of Gawler just off Murray Street (a right turn immediately after the Shell petrol station). The staff are always welcoming and friendly. Tickets are well priced - even cheaper if you have an Entertainment Book voucher. This cinema even allows you to enjoy an alcoholic beverage - why not take a glass of wine and cheese & crackers into your next movie.
