I visited with my whole family, from children to grandparents and we all loved it. We had gone to experience the Meckering earthquake simulator, but there was so much more to see and do. It was a great little museum, current and with interactive displays; very good value for money. Thanks to the volunteers who keep these rural museums running.

Very pleased we pulled in here as there's plenty of historical items to see and absorb, telling the incredible story of Cunderdin pump station playing a huge part in pumping water out to Kalgoorlie. Also a really neat little shack where you sit and watch video of old timers experiences in the 1968 Meckering earhtquake; and then you leasast expect it the whole building shakes and frightens you!

A comprehensive old machinery display and some interesting stories about the area and how it was developed. Good displays of the Meckering Earthquake which until this point in time has been the biggest geophysical event in Australia.

The museum is packed with items of historic value reflecting the life of the local community in bygone days. The earthquake room was an unusual surprise.

A fascinating collection of the machinery used to pump water to the goldfields. Many old farm tractors from the local community.

Very interesting museum being one of the original pump sites for the Perth to Kalgoorlie pipe line. Some machinery there to look at and understand the process. Other interest things to look at as well.

There is some serious steam powered water pumps here. All beautifully preserved and displayed by the local volunteers.
Well worth a look if you're liking of Victorian engineering.

I would recommend you take the time to make the drive to visit and explore this incredible museum and in particular the history of the Kalgoorlie pipeline and the amazing engineer C Y O’Connor who was the engineer who designed the pipeline and pumping stations etc. Suggest at least 2 hours to take in everything this museum has to offer
The museum also has extensive exhibitions associated the war, Meckering earthquake, agricultural machinery and even early train travel.
Makes a great day trip from Perth with stops at other towns along the way for morning tea or you can enjoy a coffee and meal at the Ettamogah Pub in Cunderdin or elsewhere along the way. Why not stop for dinner on the way back to perth.
