Imperial cave and underground river- spectacular!!!!
The guide was fantastic - informative, passionate and kept us all safe! Well organised place! The road to the caves area is different as you follow a pilot car into the area!
Coffees are expensive! Staff were nice and toilets good! Parking good!

We had the best time as a family - highly recommend a two cave tour pass which gives you a self guided tour and a guided tour to soak up a couple of hours and gets your steps up! Sam was a very knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour and we all thought he did a terrific job explaining the formations and history of Yarrangobilly caves.

Wonderful experience to witness these natural wonders that were formed 340 million years ago.

Make sure you purchase the tickets especially during school or public holidays as they can be sold out easily.

After being escorted to the car park, you can walk about 500 meters to the Jenolan house and the meeting point for the Caves tour will be just next to it, which looks like a bus stop with a sign saying "Tour meeting point". Right across the small road is the ticket office and souvenir shop.

You just need to be five minutes earlier than the tour starting time, but no harm being much earlier just in case.

In terms of the Cave tour itself, the Chifley Cave tour was amazing. Maddy was so knowledgeable and passionate. And I do agree that pictures are not doing the cave justice as you do need to see it in person. More amazing than photos. Highly recommend, whichever cave tour it is.

The beautiful place to visit with the family and kids . They have different caves . You can choose the one want to visit. The guide is very helpful and a lot of patience to explain each and every part of the tour . Inside temperature is always 15 degrees all over the year . So you must carry some warm clothes. The shoes are very important to climb the stairs. Definitely recommend this place to visit with your family.

Amazing trail tracking experience, if you love adventures. A must go place for adults but if you are taking small kids, it would be recommended to take enough caution as the cave floors are slippery and the temperature is 15 degree Celsius all year round. You must pack your necessary sunscreen and anti fly sprays as there are flies all around in summer time. It is recommended to buy tickets online well ahead as it is a top adventure tourist destination.

A great tourist attraction, with world class caves in a remarkable setting. Jenolan Caves comprise of a series of incredible and varied caves. Tours are very high quality and there's a variety of tours to suit most ages, though people with poor fitness or very small children may well struggle. But it's 100% worth the visit.

Lovely trek through a millennia old limestone cave system. We chose the imperial diamond and was guided by a very experienced guide. There are many options available- something for every age and fitness level.
Try to get to the main entrance of Jenolan Caves 1 hour before your tour starts as they will escort you down the valley to the actual caves.

Please purchase a tour ticket before you head out there, especially during school holidays and public holidays, seen too many people regret on the long hours drive for not be able to tour the caves.
It was very nice experience with our tour, our tour guide Jaime was superb. Highly recommended for family bonding, fun activities.

I had been here as a kid and now as an adult with 3 young children went again, and we all loved it! We toured through the orient caves (Persian, Egyptian, Indian and Temple of Baal) and our tour guide Steve was great. Very informative tour indeed and very kid friendly. Thank you for showing our family a great experience at the great Janolan Caves! Photos do not do the caves justice!

One word.. MESMERISING!!!!!

We went here on a Friday for the night tour! We reached a little early around 6pm for the 730 pm tour. To our surprise, the surrounding was completely deserted.. I mean it could be because of Christmas weekend.. who knows!
There were guests who were staying at the hotel.. who joined us for the tour.
Amazing amazing tour!!! Loved every moment!! Worth every penny!

PS: Take a room and stay the night if you are taking the night tour. The tour finished at 915 and it was a 3 hour drive back to the city😅😅😅

Spent a lovely weekend at Jenolan caves for my dads 60th Birthday.

You now wait for a pilot vehicle to guide you down to Jenolan caves house since the other road collapsed in bad weather a few years ago but it's well worth the 20-30 minute wait. It's steep! So suggest anyone with an auto vehicle use low gear! 👍

Did the Lucas cave first which had huge open chambers that were truly awe inspiring and saw the amazing broken column. Later in the day was the Imperial Diamond cave where you can view some incredible stalactites, stalagmites and shawls up close in all their shiny glory. The underground river is also a part of this tour and is something I wouldn't miss! We had Dillon as our guide for both tours and he was brilliant. He was funny, passionate and engaging giving fun facts along the way and gave everyone plenty of time to take it all in and ask questions. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Also stayed at the mountain lodge which was beautifully renovated. Dinner at Chisolms restuarant was an absolute delight and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely fantastic experience at the Imperial caves tour and left us wanting to do the other tours as well. Our guide gave us a lot of interesting facts and kept us all engaged throughout the tour. Plan to be at the barrier point (from where the operator vehicle escorts to the caves) at least an hour in advance. Park and walk or take the shuttle. The walk to the caves is easier than the walk back as it's mostly downhill. View of the blue lake from the walking path is amazing. Can't wait for the lake boardwalk also to be complete. Restrooms at the parking spot and near caves entry. Cafe near the caves entry serves quick eats. Toast / ready to eat items get served faster.

I recently visited a stunning natural wonder that has been known since 1872. I'm amazed by the explorer who first traversed this challenging terrain to discover it. This place has quickly become one of my favorite spots to appreciate nature's beauty. Highly recommended for those who love exploration and history!

It takes 5 years to form 1mm of crystal. Rest I leave it to your imagination.

Well, my review is just based on the Chifley Cave as we could get the booking only for this tour.

Here are a few tips:
Planning/ booking:
-book the tour ahead in time based on what works best for you(depending on your mobility).
- you would have tours that lasts between 1.5 or 3 hrs. So choose wisely as each cave has a timeslot & it's a guided tour with the guide doing a great job enlightening the importance of the cave, its formation & features.

Arriving:
- when we drove, due to the roadworks, we had to wait for the escort vehicle to drive us to the entrance of the cave.
- ensure to give ample time before arriving as the tours are fixed for a specific time & you would certainly not want to miss an opportunity to explore. Plan in a way that you can arrive at least 45 mins prior. It's ok to wait & not to lose your opportunity/money/effort.
- from the car parking, there is a pickup / drop service to the reception. In case you are tired or don't wish to walk down the hill to get to the reception office.
- once you get to the reception, report your arrival & get your wristband to start the tour. The office will guide further.

Actual tour:
- get your camera ready as you can make pics (if you enjoy photography) where possible (again follow the instructions from the guide).
- enjoy your tour. Get mesmerised in the beautiful history/geographic information of the cave.

Get ready to carry wonderful memories of your trip / tour.

Tour guides were great, super informative without being boring. The caves were magnificent and it was a great experience.

Only let down was the road diversion via Edith, the traffic controllers were disappointing to say the least. The need for an escort vehicle and no updates for 15-20 minutes at a time with long queues backed up. It would be more efficient if they just stated the last vehicle make/model and plate number than to have the need for an escort vehicle.

Amazing! I don’t know how you could come here and not think this is incredible! The history is mind blowing! We had Chris as our tour guide and he was equal parts knowledgeable and funny.

There are two roads into the caves. The NSW gov are currently doing works on the main road in after fires/floods over the last few years. So you do need to take an alternate route along Edith road. When you get close to the saves a road working car will stop you and get you to follow them down the road to the caves. This is because this road is the originally road used a couple hundreds years ago and isn’t very wide. Because the escort car takes cars in single file up and down- the caves recommend you get to the caves an hour before your booking to ensure you have enough time to wait for the escort car to get you down (it doesn’t take long but if your timing is out you might have to wait for the escort for a while)

The village is quiet at the moment because the capacity of the place is only 250 people when usually they could accommodate over 3000- this is because of all the road works.

None of this takes away from the experience, we found our group was smaller than what they would usually have because they can’t have too many people at once at the moment.

I spent two unforgettable nights at Jenolan caves house. The accommodation was great, loved the heritage and antiquity. the food was no nonsense quintessential Australian, well worth including if you book here. All the staff were happy and helpful. Clean rooms with antique furniture, comfy beds, nice bathroom. The tours were spectacular and tour guides were friendly and very knowledgeable in geology and Australian history. Each cave was completely different and had its own vibe. The plug hole tour had to be the cherry on top, was honestly the best experience out of the whole trip, shout out to Peter and Stewart who were so professional and really made sure everyone had a great time. I just want to thank everyone at jenolan from the bottom of my heart, me and the Mrs won't forget our wonderful trip here. I don't normally leave reviews but everyone just needs to know how great this place is and really deserves more attention from state government.

My family and I travelled from Sydney to visit the caves on the 31st of December 2023. We were heavily delayed by road closures, traffic and adverse weather conditions. We were very stressed we were going to miss our tour, which our three children were so excited about. Thankfully, Anita answered our frantic call and guided us and reassured us. As a result of her help, we arrived safely and made it JUST in time for our Imperial Cave Tour.

Our luck continued when we discovered the same angel telephone answering Anita, was also our tour guide!!! Anita is incredible! Her knowledge of the cave and delivery made the whole experience magical. She was clear and calm in her instructions which made our children feel safe and secure. She was fun and engaging, even allowing our middle child to become a tour leader, or "mini-Anita" as we called her. We were SO impressed with Anita and our whole Jenolan cave experience! I highly recommend the Imperial Cave tour, when you go be sure to ask for Anita...the most amazing guide!

Wow! What a magical experience. Very knowledgeable (and witty) guides. The walks are pretty easy (even the ‘strenuous’ rated ones) - there may be numerous stairs but the tour has ample stops for you to catch your breathe and there is no rush. Caves are cool but as you are walking they are not too cold.
