Gilbert Valley Hotel

I enjoy going out for a meal at the Gilbert Valley Hotel. Brian & Linette are polite, friendly & deliver great service & terrific meals. If you want a hot meal, cooked well, then drop into the Gilbert Valley Hotel! Portion sizes are terrific.

Enjoyed 2 fantastic meals here. The steaks are the best cooked to perfection and so tender. Would certainly recommend the porterhouse with pepper sauce. Also the chips are so well done crunchy and tasty. Will definitely visit again when travelling through.

Wow our group of friends went to the markets in Saddleworth and then thought about lunch I looked online and saw Gilbert Valley Hotel up the road and the place didn’t miss a beat everyone in my group which was 11 people loved, just loved the food. We will definitely go again.

Friendly, professional service, great pub food with a relaxed vibe. Could be the best schnitty I've ever had, certainly up there. Very happy with our experience.

Oh wow, they surely do know food. I ordered T-Bone steak, it was cooked to perfection! Generous portioning as well! My husband has chicken schnitzel, daughter had the kiddie Treausure Chest, we were all very happy about our food. I still drool when I think about my food that day, LOL! It's an old pub, as expected, but in very good well maintained condition. Friendly people as well. Very good food!

Had 20 people meet up at the Gilbert tavern for dinner, the food was great from fish and chips, T-bone and schnitzel with an array of toppings then cheesecake and sundaes for dessert.Was a busy evening and all meals came out in a timely manner,not one person had a bad word to say about the meals and service. Great night had by all.there were other customers also all while Linette and Brian smashed it out of the park with the help of Vanessa.

A lovely country pub with a good menu, all our food was very good. The service was excellent and friendly. The dining room was immaculate and comfortable.

Consistently great meals. As a chef myself, it's nice to have a regular place to dine and not worry about quality.
Linnete is friendly, dining room always clean and comfortable.
Would recommend booking, as it's a single man kitchen and sometimes wait times can get a bit long.
But when the meal arrives, and it's nice fresh, and we'll executed, you soon forget

Had a schnitzel there last night on the way through to Adelaide. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. The food was absolutely outstanding. The schnitzel had this delicious crumb on it, was cooked to perfection, and was a large portion. The pepper sauce was the best pepper sauce we've ever had. I said to the lady that there are places in Adelaide that specialise in schnitzels that are nowhere near as good as these. I love it! Also, the toilets and tables were spotless, very well cleaned. We will be back, thank you!

Quaint little country pub. The meal we had was fantastic. Fish and chips.. beautifully battered .. crispy and crispy chips. Warm rolls and a little bowl of salad! Highly recommend dropping in here for a meal.

This place is quiet and small but it has amazing schnitzels. I love the one with the jalapeno on top and they have an awesome Hawaiian one too.

Stumbled upon this place whilst staying overnight at the Rec reserve.
Wow so old school but awesome, fantastic huge meals- we bought 2 and took one home 😳
Publican was awesome and provided lots of local history which was great as we come from Saddleworth in UK so very interested.

Generous portions of delicious home made food served with warm country hospitality. One of the best meals we have had in a long time and I can highly recommend the house-crumbed fish and chips (& the salt and pepper squid was perfectly cooked too!).

Stopped for lunch on the way home from a holiday, expecting the usual boring pub fare. But we were delighted with the comprehensive menu, and ordered Crispy Skin Salmon. The service, provided by Lynette, was great, and the meal, cooked by her husband, was fantastic - cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. This was the best meal of our whole trip, some of which were far more expensive. If we didn't live so far from Saddleworth, we'd eat here regularly.
