I stayed at The Steps a few years ago during the drought when there was very little water in the river and always wanted to come back.

Took a long time to get back, but recently I had the opportunity to get away for an overnight stay and so glad I did. It was just perfect! The park is really well laid out and maintained, the amenities clean and the best part for me....the mountain bike tracks are great!

Well done guys, you've got a fabulous facility there, keep up the good work!!

What a magic place! The Steps Barrington Campground is a place you will return to many times. Nestled away from the grind of everyday life, The Steps is a great place to unwind and enjoy the gems nature provides when you stop to admire them. The facilities are modern and clean the camp grounds are well manicured and spacious. There are many areas to camp in whatever you bring, from Swag to Van, there is a spot for you. The river provides a picturesque view to enjoy. The hamlet of Barrington is a 15-minute drive if you need a quick fix of civilisation. The Steps is also the muster point for the gravity thrill seekers of the pedal powered variety... We know, do you?

Second time staying at The Steps and really can't fault the place. It's just a top spot. Our group all had a great time, kids had a blast in the river and no mobile reception was exactly what most of us needed. We'll be back again.

Highly recommended the camp grounds! The space is huge that you book the showers/bathrooms were clean and hot water is a bonus! There is a washing dishes area also and trash bins provided. The creek is perfect after an intense day of MTB riding and the shuttle and reception crew are amazing! Will be back! Perfect for the whole family and any ages.

Great atmosphere and services in the campground. Clean toilets all the time. The children loved the adventure of nature especially the river. They went down to the river everyday during the stay. We took small battery (100Watts rechargeable) for power abd solar blankets. That was more than enough to run the lights and charged our
Highly recommended. We came and stayed there in group, so that was an amazing experience.

Located in one of the most beautiful valleys in New South Wales the site is well kept, clean, tidy, and great for camping. Congratulations to the owners who have put in so much work over the years. I have previously stayed in the cottage and had a great time with friends.

Awesome place, great swimming holes, some in the group made use of the mountain bike park which they loved.
Toilets and showers were hot and clean.
Not our first time and won’t be our last.

What a great place to camp at, clean toilets, hot showers, plenty of space for the kids to run around, river at the camp grounds edge for a swim, bike hire for the trails in the mountain with a pick up service. Staff at the grounds a the best and will help you out when they can. I've been here a few times now and will be coming back many more times in the future. WHAT A GREAT PLACE !!!!

This is the most amazing camp site. Hugging the Barrington River, surrounded by majestic gums and alive with bird song this is an ideal family adventure holiday. Boasting three down hill bike runs it challenges all skill levels.
If this is not your thing, take a dip in the pristine mountain waters. Then warm up with a good book and cup of tea around the campfire.
Amenities are first class with clean and modern toilets and showers.
The park is super tidy with garbage and recycling done at least daily.
Fire wood and fire pits are available (be mindful of fire bans).
It is super safe for little ones who are free to ride their around the less difficult bike paths.
We'll be back again.

Spectacular views, lovely campsites and river. We've moutain biked at 5 places in NSW, Thredbo expensive, long drive, lots trails, around home which is great, Ourimbah great also, Mount Gladstone near Cooma, and now Barrington Tops. This is my favourite as a mum and non mtb rider. Lots of other activities, river rafting, lazing around in river, great campsites and lovely family who have run this place for 30 years. We plan to visit again for longer!

Absolutely beautiful campground! A great spot to escape the 'real world' and recharge. Take a swim in the river, read a good book in the sun, and gaze at the stars with the sound of running water in the background. To top it off, the amenities are immaculate and staff very lovely and willing to help! Can't wait to return!

The Steps genuinely surprised myself and my mates. The site is located in a beautiful spot 30mins out of town, with the river beside you and hills all around. Whatever campsite you get, you’ll enjoy.
I don’t ride, but the bike park looked great and is included in the price to stay.
The amenities are all modern and better than you’d expect. Hot showers and water on site was a huge bonus.
Hard to beat the value for money of this campground. We’ll be back again very soon!

Really magical location, not too far from Sydney yet extremely remote, quiet and beautiful. We will be back. Many thanks for such an awesome, and well presented camping site.

All our family and friends love staying here - beautiful camping by the river that is perfect for a swim, then a ride in the bike park. My kids are 6 and 9 and enjoy the trails. The green and blue trails are perfect for my 6 year old daughter, my 9 year old son loves shuttling right to the top to ride all the trails.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Steps Campground.
The campsites are well maintained.
We loved that we could have a campfire at night (during our stay there was a fire ban during the day, which understood why).
The bathrooms are very clean and well kept.
Love there is free hot water showers!!
Thank you!!
The pit toilets in a seperate camping area to the main bathrooms look new, they don’t smell at all & it doesn’t even feel like a pit toilet.
The river is gorgeous! No need for wetsuits when it’s a hot day! A welcomed cool off! Our kids (11 & 9yrs) loved going down the rapids on thick blow up mattresses. The best fun! They were in & out of the river all day. Plenty of swimming areas for everyone.
It was hot during the day so we were thankful for the shaded camp ground.
Order your fire wood before 2pm & they will deliver it ($20 for wood).
They come around with bins to keep the place clean. Thank you!
We didn’t get to bring the kids bikes this time, but I highly recommend you do if you can. It’s safe to ride around the campground. Great (free) riding for the kids.
The huge downhill ride option seems expensive for the day ($90/day for adults shuttle back up the hill), so riding around the campsite is a great option for kids. Plenty of space to do so.
We loved that there is no internet or phone service. A perfect place for a screen detox! The people in reception are very friendly and helpful so if you needed to call out for anything (like car battery dead haha) they are happy to help!
Gloucester is only a 25min drive away if you need to restock food or for anything you need.
I highly recommend this campground!
You will love it!

One of the best camping setups I've been to and we've been to hundreds.

We came for the mountain biking at the adjacent Barrington Bike Park but would happily still come to camp here without it.

Great amenities with instant hot water, nice big grassy 'zones' for groups and a stunning stretch of river - we can't wait to go back!

6 of us went for a mountain bike and camping weekend and was pleasantly surprised with the facilities. Very well maintained flushable toilets and hot showers. Great large camping sites with dry firewood upon request. The mountain biking was fantastic being able to be picked up at reception of the camp grounds and driven up the entire mountain to cruise down 12 runs. The river was also fantastic to swim in. I found the 2 night stay to be really affordable with lots to do. Highly recommend and I will stay here again.

Great weekend away to The Steps at Barrington. Beautiful campsite and superb new amenities block. The river was warm, clean and we had so much fun going down the rapids on the river sleds we hired.
Mountain Biking wise - the guys are all amazing. We loved Shaun - full of great tips. Trails were top notch - though super steep up the top!! Young kids were able to do the pump track and the green run from mid station - but overall, it is geared towards experienced riders.
Will definitely be back soon!!!
