It was very interesting to see how the early settlers worked and lived.
It's just a gold coin donation to visit this little cottage.
Hard to image the whole family living in such a small home, especially by today's standards.

Another random find, well laid out, and the German history was interesting, particularly the 1847 document Naturalisation of Certian persons Native from Germany

Very well set up with all sorts of historical bits and pieces. So many interesting items and lots of good labels explaining what things are and how they were used. Very good that they provide photos of the cellar for those who can't get down those very steep steps. Plus it was a very reasonable entry fee of a $2 donation. Definitely worth the visit.

What a hidden gem! Interactive flash back to the past. My 2 boys 10 & 7 also loved it. A must see! Shout out to the dog Rex!

We accidently came to this museum but I'm glad we did. My kids (4,9 & 11) were fascinated with all the old stuff and amazed at how small the house was. I was really impressed with the information boards and we learnt lots of new things. The boys were too scared to go down in to the cellar but my daughter and i thought it was great. She'd never been in a cellar before!
The garden was very lovely too, the volunteers should be proud.
The photo I've posted is one we took because my daughter couldn't believe how low the verandah and doorways were! She had to duck to get in🤣

Take a step back in time and check out this great little cottage showcasing items and artefacts of pioneer life. It is a wonderful example of how life used to be and generally open between 10am to 4pm. Entry is by gold coin donation and it is certainly worth it!

Fascinating glimpse of history via a self guided tour of the house, school room, cellar and farm machinery in a shed at the very back of the property. The cellar is a bit hard to....it's under the school building....enter from right-hand side. Not wildly exciting or fancy but very interesting if you take the time to read the information scattered about.

I spent an hour here and regretted not having much more time to spend here. There is so very much information here for anyone interested in the history of Light Pass, I strongly recommend allotting at least 2 hours to spend here, preferably more! I will be back, along with the names of my ancestors who lived in Light Pass back in the 1800s.
