Had lunch here today. Can sit inside or outside either at the front or out the back. Small blackboard menu with no prices. The smoked salmon salad with potato rosti was spot on. So was the pear, almond and chocolate cake with cream. Friendly service.

One of my favourite places to visit, always a pleasure. Great food, great location and friendly staff. Cake Fridays are always exciting with new choices every week.

Best cafe in Metung. Cakes are divine, however I always go for the scones, jam and cream with my coffee.

This is the best cafe in Metung. Service can be a bit slow when busy. But the food is worth the wait. A limited menu but great quality food. The cakes are to die for. Chris my wife loves the Salmon Rosti and Abby, my Golden Retriever and I really enjoy the bacon egg rolls. A really good place to eat and relax. Good coffee always pleasant service.

Called in to Metung on our boat cruise and found this tiny cafe packed full of all sorts of gift ware. Also had a limited menu which looked good to the 4 of us so went ahead and ordered lunch...very happy with what we had. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly too. We think it would be a good idea to put the menu board with prices out the front.

Perfect! Had a delicious home made scone, still warm from the oven, with jam and cream. Combined with an expertly made mug of coffee... Highly recommended..

Beautiful town and beautiful cafe. I loved their vibe, omelette and mango chicken salad but the best thing was vanilla french chiffon cake with cream. We have devoured it. You just have to be a little patient as it takes sometime for your order to be served but it was quite busy.

We had breakfast in Effloresce few days back, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast (especially the sourdough bread) was yummy and coffee/chai latte was nicely made. The "Date Scones" were delicious and is highly recommended. We bought piece of cake too (apple cake i think) which we had few hours later, was fresh and very tasty. Make sometime to have brekkie here when you are touring Lakes Entrance.

Don’t come here for a quick bite- come to relax and enjoy the moment. Everything is made/cooked to order , so enjoy a drink while you wait for your meal. My wife had quiche and salad, whilst I had a warm chicken and mango salad. Both were very good value for money. We also enjoyed a mug of chai latté. This cafe has an ambiance about it with gifts, Flowers, and condiments for sale.

We visited for breakfast, but were really after a piece of their award winning vanilla slice - both were fantastic! Highly recommend. Some say the service is slow, but we didn’t experience that at all.

In the 70s I was awarded the best pastry cook in Victoria's 2 years running by the William Agnes college, I have been a customer of Effloresce Cafe since it's been open 10 years, and I have watched this cafe inspire the cheif Lilly to become the most amazing cook I have ever seen, she is the best cake and desert cooker ever. If you want to have the best cake ever, go to Metung, I have cooked for the best placeses in Victoria, but I bow down to Lilly, well done girl, your are my number 1 best cake ever cook, it's worth the drive to Gippsland just to have your slice of the best, that's the best ever. Thanks for the experience

A great little cafe for coffee and light meals. Also has the best cakes in Gippsland. All food cooked on the premises, very fresh and delicious. Super friendly staff.

One of the best blueberry muffins I have had. Served with cream made it extra delectable.

What a beautiful little family business in Metung. Our first time in Metung for a friends 40th Birthday getaway. I contacted Effloresce and they were amazing from the beginning. So helpful and accomodating. Unfortunately things didn’t go to plan on our end to attend for breakfast, but upon picking up the cake I was speechless on how beautiful the cake was. And it tasted even better than it looked! Thank you Lilli & Angie for all your help!
