This place is located next to the local nursery in tea tree gully towards the hills. It is surrounded by greenery and the view is nice.

I booked a tasting(forage) menu($120pp) for my mum's birthday on Saturday for 2 of us. I booked online, the staff said if I change the menu to a la carte, I will loose my deposit which is $20 per person. So I stayed on tasting menu.

There was home made bread with home made butter, comes with warm olives. It was so delicious.

Then comes 3 dishes of snacks for share. They are all nice, but I liked the fish finger more than other 2 dishes. The green plant on the fish finger looked like spring onion, but tasted like succulent plant, it was interesting.

After the snacks came the mains. The first is char grilled asparagus, it was lovely. The octopus with chili crunch was amazing, probably my favourite dish from what we had. The flavour, the texture were top notch. The leek was interesting too, tasted like eggplant, very soft. Then comes the last main which is the kangaroo with onion. The meat is very tender, I can taste red wine in there.

Last but not least, comes the dessert - berry cheesecake with rhubarb and spiced nuts. It was lovely and beautiful too.

The only thing I would pick is that the food and service were too slow. We booked the table at 12:30pm, but we only finished all food at around 3:15pm. The bread came half hour later upon arrival. I understand it was busy, but maybe we can be served and attended a bit faster after we sat down.

Overall we had a good experience, the food and presentation were amazing, staff were friendly and helpful. And the atmosphere was lovely and warm. Would love to try their pizza next time.

Excellent meal in a lovely setting. The lunch menu was fantastic and really struck lucky that the Coffin Bay lobsters were a special. Dressed with finger lime and fig juice 👌.

4 adults and one child went there for lunch on a weekday, having booked well in advance. What a beautiful spot and such a treat being a part of Newman's Nursery, so made for a fabulous setting.
The food was sensational and even more so with smallish lunchtime serves rather t hrh an big pub size plates.
The service also was excellent. I will make a point of going again and taking friends.

Awesome place! Located right next to Newman's Nursery, this cafe is a peaceful hidden gem. The food was excellent with a big range of little sharing plates, mains, kids options and drinks. While you're waiting for food you can explore the nursery (great for kids to expend some energy).

Fine dining quality food at cafe price! I firstly visit Topiary when I visit Newman’s Nursery to have a quick bite. Now, I visit Newman’s Nursery when I have eat and drink at Topiary. The standard of food quality is phenomenal. I would say it is almost fine dining level, but price is very reasonable for what you pay for. What I mostly like is that they focus onto seasonal produces. Fresh seasonal ingredients are always the first step to the good food. There are quite interesting choices for breakfast and lunch, but I miss their scones though which is no longer available on the current menu. Nicely set in leafy surroundings and plenty of natural light even in indoor plus enjoy shopping for your garden at Newman’s Nursery. Highly recommend!

What a great way to spend a mid-autumn lunch. The produce was excellent and prepared carefully. Figs with whipped feta and cured pork were delicious. We also had the tommy ruff and the lamb pie, both of which were great. Nice, laid-back service too. Highly recommended.

Great food, good summer menu.
Unfortunately we visited on a very hot day and their a/c struggling - not entirely their fault. Even then, was a very enjoyable lunch with fantastic food. Take the time to understand their menu, it's definitely worth it!

Great food and service in a tranquil location with plenty of parking. Really enjoyed the Chilli Scramble, especially with the infusion of Asian flavours and aromas which complements the ingredients very well. Will definitely return in the future to try other dishes.

Dropped in for a long-ish lunch, and we went for the Forager’s Menu + the add extra dish plus dessert (how can we miss dessert?). The dishes were sublime. The mussels with the grilled fennel/ink/bacon fat crumb stood out with lots of flavours that went well in the mix. And the fresh fig with feta and cured pork - OMG! An explosion of flavours in one bite ! The Tommy Ruff, grilled in a fig leaf with their “not-hot sauce” was a blast to South East Asia.
The grilled strawberry and rosemary crème brûlée stood out as a testament to the pastry chef’s skill with sweets. I’m not a crème brûlée nor a Rosemary fan - but the Rosemary scent/taste did not overwhelm the dish and the caramelised sugar layer was nice and thin. Not a single fault, but highly enjoyable.
Service was very attentive, although the interior of the old stone building felt chilly.
Suffice to say - I’ll be back.

An absolutely delightful 5 Star cafe/restaurant! Quality food. Quality service. Relaxed atmosphere nestled into a leafy garden.
During the day you can enjoy a top quality coffee and then visit Newman’s Nursery next door.
This is definitely one of Adelaides best hidden treasures!

Relaxed and cosy vibe. Service is attentive and friendly. Food is a masterpiece on a plate, so delicious! We visited for a birthday brunch and it was awesome. Local and quality produce, even sorrel in the salad, which is unique and delicious (not to mention so good for you). The nursery and gardens is a beautiful addition to the experience. A true gem tucked away in Tea Tree Gully. Highly recommend a visit! ☕🪴

We had a fantastic lunch at Topiary cafe today! Absolutely enjoyed it! Their Olives bowl was a very nice start. The lamb and venison were cooked to perfection and so delicious! and last but not least the Fallen Leaves was a wonderful finish and the roasted almond topping was amazing. Thanks to the nice lady who explained for us the work behind such an amazing dessert. Thank you guys for your great service, fresh ingredients and absolutely relaxing environment. <3

Always a wonderful place to catch up with friends and enjoy a good breakfast, coffee, or walk around the gardens to pick out a plant or two to take home. Great tasting coffee and freshly baked sour dough breads to take home too. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing, we were so impressed the food was exceptional, we are on nutritional keto and vegetarian, we find it hard to get anything on a menu that is suitable and you had just the thing.(crispy brassica) with a side of haloumi and ferments. We have a high standard of food quality at home as I'm from a hospitality background and it is very rare that we find a place that the food is better than at home. It was sensational but if it wasn't for Mark's service and hospitality I could never return. It is rare to find stand out genuine service and in all honesty if the food is magnificent and the service is not I will not go back to an establishment. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we highly recommend Topiary.
