Luxury camping grounds.

Other campers brought marquees, oversize tents and played rancid music through the night whilst basking around illegal fire pits. I was rather envious of electric vehicle campers that plugged in air fryers and portable heaters to their car and solar panels.

Overall, some better camping etiquette required amongst visitors.

Note that there is zero phone reception in the area.

Best Camp ground and Boat ramp at Lake Eildon.
Hot showers, flushing toilets and fresh drinking water all available.

Went during winter, so wasn't crowded.
Has 1no gas BBQ and 4 fire pits. (which wouldn't be enough during summer). There's drinking water taps and SHOWERS with warm water.

Unfortunately no lighting to the undercover bbq space.

Great spot to start your hikes or enter the lake. Would go back again.

Camped there in summer which was bit busy but still one of my favorites. Close to lake with a great view of trees and mountains. People can swim, kayak and load boats there. The facilities are great, including hot water shower and drinking water. Only four fire places around the water which are not enough at all.

We had a great time camping here for 3 nights after Christmas. Great amenities - flushing toilets, hot showers and a gas bbq - all included in campsite price and cleaned daily so given it’s a camp site, very clean! Fresh water also available too.
Lots of walks from the campsite, we enjoyed the outdoors and hanging around the campsite and using the fire pits at night.
Only downside is that it’s all dirt and almost clay, no soft grass or sorts but then again this is Australia so expected.

Pros: Hot water showers, several fire pits, wildlife, walking trails and 1min walk from Lake Eildon.
Cons: Quite pricey, dusty and ground is pretty hard

We didnt actually camp here, we came to take the bush walk which i can highly recommend. We had 5 kids under 5 and an 8 year old amongst 4 parents. The walk was 2km return, the were regular signs and arrows which explained why the landscape were as they were due to the area being mined. A very interesting walk. Just be cautious with young kids as there are mine shafts around

Candelbark is the quieter of the camp grounds, perfect for families with younger kids, or scout groups, or a quite trip with a group of friends. Depending on the water level, the lake can be either right outside your tent, or a stroll of up to 1km. Plenty of Kangaroos, possums, various parrots to look out for.
Simple camping on well marked out sites, and well maintained amenities block, which, although it's a bit worn around the edges, has clean toilets and Hot showers. Definitely need to book for busy holiday times.
Can get a bit dusty in summer.

The campsite was adequate but we were very unlucky that we shared a couple of days with very noisy group. They have their music on really loud and I don't think it's appropriate. We just want some quiet moment sitting next to the fire.

A good place for stay after hiking but too many noise from ignorant people. Avoid at all cost during long weekend.
