We had a lovely day out, had a great walk around the falls. Easy walk and very scenic. A must if your driving through, well worth the stop

Just a couple of minutes off the main road and you will arrive at the most wonderful waterfall. Very easily accessed. I absolutely loved my stay at Apsley Falls. I'd advise booking before arriving if you wish to stay there as there is no mobile reception and you don't want to miss out on a spot. The Camp spots where ample sized with your own table and fire pit. Plenty of cut wood and clean flushing toilets. The waterfalls are spectacular and the walk around the gorge is easy and well pathed. An abundance of bird and wildlife. I can't fault the place..will definitely be going back.

Spectacular scenery, take in the sounds and the smell of this area.
Many respects are given to our traditional custodians of this land.
Gorgeous as it is, we also acknowledge the traditional land owners who were forced by white men on horseback into the gorge. Not that long ago.

At first it’s ordinary then when you get to the first lookout it is awesome. The rest of the lookouts are also fantastic. Photos don’t do justice.

Pleasant, easy walk around all the lookouts with a rather spectacular view from each one. Even though not all lookouts view the falls, they are still something to look at for some dramatic scenery.

Apsley Falls remains a beautiful New England attraction in the inland plains. Opening up in the dramatic geological canyon with sheer rock faces that drop hundreds of meters on each side, the falls range from a trickle in dry weather to the roaring deluge known for the mist that creates a rainbow. Known by the Aboriginal custodians of the land as the Rainbow Serpent, this attraction is priceless for reasons across several cultures throughout the ages 🌈 🐍

Fantastic place to visit any time I'm near here I always stop in!! The scale of these fall is not justified by the picture. Great walking track around the edge of the false giving all different angles to view the falls and gorge from!

Stunning location. It’s not just the falls the gorge & surrounding area is lovely. We visited 10th November 2020 - lots of beautiful wildflowers.
The best viewpoint is to walk over the suspension bridge over the river which then goes around the back of the falls & continues around to a spectacular view front on of the falls. It’s fairly easy access.
Picnic area with BBQ
toilet facility.
Good walkways.
Can view main waterfall easily from carpark. Very short walk from end carpark in day visitors area.

So easy to see multiple vantage spots - just park your car and walk around. So much to see and there are longer walks around the falls and the gorge of you want to. Highly recommended that you take the 1km turnoff if driving near Walcha.

Love this place!! We spent the whole day there walking around tracks looking down into the gorges, and reading the history along the way! The amenities were clean and well looked after! Such an amazing view of the falls when you make use of the walking track! Just amazing! It's a must stop when you are Allowed to Travel again.! Be sure to stop here you won't regret it!

Great walking tracks. We saw platypus from the suspension bridge. Lots of great information along the way. Wheelchair friendly too.

Wow! We're in a motorhome, looking for a stop on Oxley Highway and saw the sign. Wasn't sure what to expect but the walk overlooking gorge and waterfalls well worth it. After recent rain the falls were in full flow.

Had a ball doing bush walking ab sailing camping. Really good facilities, and it's been so long since I've seen fire wood provided.
Loved the place, a must see.

Apsley Falls is about 65m high, at the top of Apsley Gorge, 1km off the Oxley Highway, about 18km east of Walcha, in the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park. There are ample parking spots, picnic tables, a campground nearby, and the falls lookout is just a short walk from the carpark. There is also a longer walk around the rim of the gorge (providing more views of these falls and the lower ones, and of course the gorge itself) from several lookouts. To see all of them requires about 2km of walking, most of them being accessed by a suspension bridge over the Apsley River upstream of the falls. The walk is flat in some places and steep in others, but the views are worth it. Allow about 40-60 minutes to get to the last lookout and return to the carpark.

What a hidden gem! I believe this waterfall perfectly highlights the tablelands nature of this region and why it's a bit cooler here than other areas of NSW.

We always stop here on our way to Walcha to have a quick look. A really beautiful spot whether in the day or at night. Never busy and never crowded. I've flown my drone here a long time ago and it was really beautiful to look at.

There's a platform you can walk on to get a really great vantage point of the waterfall and everything below. It's really easy to just park your car and minimise any walking distance. There is also a little bridge to help you cross the river, just a little upstream from the waterfall.
