Incredible dinner service. Whilst the price is high, you get extremely high quality and delicious food, along with great drinks service and very friendly staff who are quick to serve and tend to your needs. Would highly recommend dining here if you have the cash. We had the tasting menu which was about ~$80 pp which consisted on 5 entrees, a main dish and a dessert dish. They have a wide range of alcoholic drinks available, we opted for several cocktails, some sake and their Sapporo on tap.

A lovely atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The food was amazing, but for $36, the Swimmer Crab Udon was a very small serve. However, it was so good! Just don't get the udon to share. Make sure you order one each, because you don't want to miss out!!

I enjoyed a really lovely lunch here recently. Amazing array of different dishes and an amazing Bloody Mary. Great service too from the friendly and chilled staff. Thankyou!

Wonderful dinner. Service was prompt, polite, friendly. Admittedly a quiet weekday evening, but we didn't wait for anything and we weren't hassled. Food was wonderful as expected. The 5 course set menu was just right for hungry people. You could eat for less if not so hungry. The verandah was great on a warm summer evening.Would definitely recommend and will go again.

Food was awesome and couldn’t fault the service. Chose from the menu rather than doing the feed me menu and it worked out quite a bit cheaper and was so much food. Shallot pancakes and the tempura veggies were the stand out for me. Serving size of the dishes were large and easy to share

I have been dying to try this spot and didn’t disappoint!
We had the set lunch menu and everything was delicious. Dumplings were so good that I didn’t have time to take a picture!
Service was friendly and good.
Next time I would order a little bit of everything to try a bigger variety.

ShoSho Japanese Izakaya consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience, meriting a glowing five-star review. After several visits, each meal and the service have been outstanding. The chef’s menu, which we’ve enjoyed twice, is a highlight, offering a creative and delicious journey through Japanese cuisine. The ambiance combines traditional Izakaya warmth with a modern flair, making every visit feel special. Service is attentive and competent, adding to the exquisite culinary experience. ShoSho is a must-visit for anyone looking for tasty modern Japanese dining.

We had a lovely dining experience at ShoSho and they’ve managed to replicate enjoyment that their sister restaurant instills. Friendly staff with great recommendations for drinks and accompanied dishes. We kept ordering more food and finished with the main of pork which was huge as well as delicious

Wife and I had their DERAKKUSU CHEF’S menu which included up to 10 items including an interesting black sesame dessert and wagyu steak (tasted heavenly). Paired with some sake, the evening was made memorable by their excellent service staff (thanks Aaron!) and ambience. Be sure to book as they get full on weekends.

Our second visit to ShoSho and the same food quality and overall experience was had… outstanding.

The setting is perfectly dark and moody (the outside area is nice and cozy also). The service was (on both occasions) very attentive and friendly.

Like the first time we went we decided to do the chef tasting menu, which may seem on the expensive side but imo we’ll worth the money. We all left extremely full and very satisfied.

Wines we drank
-OX Hardy Fiano, Paolo Scavino D’alba, Ashton Hills Pinot

Fav dish
- So hard to pick but whatever they did to the oysters was mind blowing.

Would I go back

Amazing food. We had the chef's selection. They took into account my strange allergies and created an incredible selection of dishes for us. Oysters, salmon sashimi, tempura beans and prawns, my favourite was the scallop which was amazing. I never normally like scallops but this was beyond delicious 😋 we also had the crab udon, wagyu beef, and caramelized something with icecream for dessert. Outstanding meal! No photos as too busy enjoying ourselves ❤

So happy to have Japanese Tempura in Adelaide!! It is a cool and modern Japanese restaurant. 3 of us, a family enjoyed their sensational foods. However there’s no kids meal, my daughter loved prawn’s Katsu sandwich and handmade ice cream very well. We enjoyed some snacks and tempura course.
Appreciate their warm welcoming atmosphere. She also enjoyed to discover cute iconic “Kewpie “ dolls and illustrations in the restaurant.

Pleasantly surprised! I've dined at shobosho a few times and wasn't overly impressed which is why I was hesitant to give shosho ago but I was blown away. The service was on point, definitely next level compared to most Adelaide restaurants. Very impressed with the snacks, crab Udon was something special and the pork chop was cooked to perfection.

Delicious Japanese Izakaya inspired dishes. Each dish was unique, flavourful and presented nicely. The venue is cosy, I appreciated the interior. Staff were very helpful, lively and friendly.
Our favourite dish was the wagyu cheeseburger, a must try that lived up to the hype!

A sister place to Shobosho that we really loved. The dining experience was amazing. We had 1 of the set menu which we had a fair amount of food to fill us up! Definitely a place to visit if you've been to Shobosho already.

Sister restaurant of Shobosho shines bright.
If you are a fan of tempura, there won't be one person who doesn't love this place.

The chefs five course menu delivers an array of tempting plates both tempura style and other delicious Japanese flavoured dishes.
The dumplings are an absolute knockout, whilst the freshness of the simple Sashimi cleansed the pallet leaving you ready for more crispy tempura favourites.

The intimate dining area lends itself to a cosy atmosphere, whilst the open kitchen makes for great viewing.

Oh yeah, make sure you grab some Saki too.

Always have a good meal here. Servings are small but the flavor and dedication to the Aesthetic makes up for it. Staff are always amazing and professional.

The wait staff were lovely. The food was well constructed and full of flavour. We did the chefs selection banquet which seems quite pricey at the time. But the quality of the dishes quickly quelled our worries. The kingfish sashimi was a stand out entree.
