Excellent property and Ken and Ruth are perfect hosts. We stayed for 2 nights in the hangar apartment which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The property was dry due to the lack of rain but was still very beautiful. We had the use of a car for the 2 days at no extra cost and took a drive in to Toowoomba which was also lovely. Will definitely stay again!

FigTree is the perfect romantic getaway for the adventurer. Beautiful scenery, very peaceful and amazing hosts! We were lucky and got to see amazing stargazing including shooting stars. The woodfire inside the silo kept us very warm all night long! Hopefully, we will be able to visit the place again soon. Thanks!

My wife & I flew in for an overnight stay in the hangar unit and the whole experience was absolutely fantastic. Ruth and Ken are perfect hosts - they've worked very hard to create a superb destination, and they've thought of every little detail. The property is elevated with views for miles and the sunset was spectacular.

Even if you're a relatively new pilot, Ken will provide you with detailed information so you can fly in & land with confidence.
We'll definitely be back.

A must do!

We flew in to Fig Tree for an overnight getaway, our only regret is that we didn’t have time to stay longer.

It is clear that Ken and Ruth take great pride in their property. The gardens, air strip and accommodation are immaculately maintained and have a stunning outlook.

If you need supplies, Pittsworth is only a short (and scenic) drive away.

We greatly appreciated Ken and Ruth’s generous hospitality, they are the real deal.

We can’t wait to return.

We flew in to Figtree in our little Sling 2 for a night away. Ken and Ruth are delightful hosts. The studio apartment and hangar facilities are first rate. We watched the beautiful sunset in peace and quiet, while we had dinner beside the fireplace. Our only visitors were the kangaroos and birds.
Whether you fly in or drive in we highly recommend staying here.

Fig Tree is an excellent choice if you like to camp in a beautiful rural environment with plenty of well-managed natural vegetation around you, and lots of sweeping views of the Darling Downs. Ruth and Ken are very friendly and helpful hosts and made our recent four day stay in our camper van enjoyable - despite some inclement weather on two of those days. The days that were sunny showed the true beauty of the location, and we walked all around the perimeter of the camping area, which enabled us to see the panorama of the Downs landscape. The sunsets are beautiful to enjoy from sheltered positions with a glass of something enjoyable in your hand!

We were looking for a short Fly-In stay and were excited to come across FigTree Country Retreat. The booking process was smooth and flexible and once landed, we were welcomed and settled in, instantly. The Hangar apartment is just delightful for short (or longer) stays and generously equipped with all the comforts. The property itself is ‘picture postcard’ from dawn through to dusk - we sat with our wine and snacks enjoying a sunset vista over the Darling Downs followed by dinner al fresco, under the sparkling stars with the warmth of the fire pit.

Thank you Ruth and Ken for your hospitality. We would love to stop by, again.

My wife and I just got married here - what a fairytale wedding it was! We had 80 guests, who spoke nothing but the highest of Ruth and Ken, and the beautiful property that they have. They were so accomodating for all of our quirky requests, such as including a few aviation themes into our wedding. They made such a big effort to make the day ours, even allowing us to bring our pets too!

In the lead up to the wedding, they were so organised, and promptly answered any questions we had.

FigTree was also where we got engaged a year prior, and straight away knew that this perfect venue was where we would get married. From the time between getting engaged, and married, we had visited the property a number of times, and every time we had been, it has improved a little bit more.

Ruth and Ken work so hard. We couldn't have had our dream wedding anywhere else.

Could not have asked for a more beautiful and peaceful little weekend getaway
Stargazing ,toasting marshmallows in the fire pit and scenic walks
Ruth and Ken are the most gracious hosts who ensured we had a wonderful visit
Puppy dog Joey is also part of the welcome!
Just a short drive from Toowoomba and well worth our drive from the Gold Coast
Figtree has a accomodation options to suit everyone and are currently outfitting another “glamping” silo
Highly recommend if you are looking to “switch off” in fresh country air for a few days

My partner and I stayed here recently for a long weekend and decided to book the glamping silo. We can not speak highly enough of how great of an experience this was. Ken and Ruth were great hosts and they provide you with everything that you need within the glamping silo. The site itself was amazing, on a flattened out hill top. Have had a few friends and family ask about the location from seeing our pictures and hearing our stories. We have also discussed coming back at a later date due to how much we enjoyed our time there.

Only thing to note is that Google maps isn't the best with this location. The best way in is to come from the Pittsworth side along St Helens Rd, and the entrance is on Peterson Rd, not Wallingford Rd.

Google listing photos are for real! Beautifully landscaped and maintained, with a bush perimeter and farm views beyond. Comfy accomm, friendly hosts (thanks for the local tips and chocolate Ruth!), lovely pup, and so much peace and quiet and easy drive from Toowoomba. Staying alongside a working light plane hangar is also a hoot! And if you’re city slickers like us, definitely take up Ken’s kind offer to light the fire pit :) Thanks so much, will be recommending to friends.

Peaceful, private, and unique. I had a lovely stay at the retreat, which was comfortable and relaxing. The retreat is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down while enjoying the warmth of a fire. With little light pollution, it was easy to see the dazzling stars in the night sky. There was plenty of bird life, with kangaroos and wallabies hopping around too. The hosts are wonderfully accomodating and easy to communicate with.

If you want tranquillity and mesmerising views this is the place to go! The sunsets (and sunrise if you're keen!) are nothing short of spectacular. Ken and Ruth are fantastic hosts and you can see this property is a labour of love. The shared facilities are always very clean, and there are lots of lovely touches in the accommodation and property. I've stayed in the house and the hangar on different visits and am looking forward to staying in the glamping silo in July! A very special place!!! Five stars really isn't enough!

A reluctant review as I don't want to share this incredible place with too many people!! As I pulled up the driveway it took my breath away. Absolute heaven, hidden away from the rest of the world. The photos don't do it justice. The stars, the silence, the wildlife, the magnificent accommodation with every thing you'll ever need. I fear this place won't be a secret much longer as it's too amazing to hide from the world. I'll be back!!!

Such a magical place for camping and getting away. The hosts are lovely and the view of the sutra ding landscapes and sky was expansive. A great spot if you like camping/clamping with a view
