Prickly Mo

We frequent Prickly Mo as Tim is such a great host, the place is so quirky, and they have the best bathrooms I have seen ever! One of the best things on top of the above it their platters! So so so yummy and great value for money!

My favourite vineyard is totally unpretentious and is gradually developing its public spaces whilst producing first class wines.

The shearing shed cellar door has a rustic and welcoming atmosphere where the regular guest musicians entertain and engage with patrons.

There is no polished tasting room or dedicated dinning area but there is a great vibe that invites you inside on a very personal level and ensures you first visit will not be your last

Buttery, not too oaky chardonnay. Have to say pretty close to a Margaret River chardonnay. Was really pleasant and at the same time surprised by it. Came to a live event on a sunny day tops it. Great rustic place to hang out. Will get the platters next round.

We had great time there. The owner showed us the area and we love the wine. It really is a hidden gem. Strongly recommend if you are visiting along the tasting trail. A must stop.

The staff were so chill and kind, they were telling me the local vineyard next door supplies their Cider & it was amazing! A man who I assume was the owner was kind enough to give me a free drink as I was there celebrating my birthday. Shared this platter with about 10+ others and there was still some left overs! Plus, it’s a dog friendly place! Amazing!

Wonderful gem of a find. The dining area had a lovely, laid-back atmosphere, the staff were very warm and friendly, food platters were very generous and well-balanced, and of course, great wines too.

Amazing venue platters a must

A little rustic cabin set among grape vines and bush, with live music and a fire.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it ended up derailing our plans to visit another winery because we loved it so much.
The Fumé Blanc is something special.
Tim served us, he was amazing. Plus there is a dog that deserves the cover photo on “Wine dogs of Australia”.
We didn’t eat, but heard multiple other tables raving about the food.
Would make a detour to visit again!

What an amazing afternoon with great wine and local beers for the boys. Definitely recommend a share food plate. Atmosphere and staff amazing!

Beautiful vineyard and cellar door with a warm and relaxed Tassie atmosphere to suit. Could easily sit there all afternoon.

We were staying in Cradle Mountain and had a free afternoon to look around. I googled wineries nearby and after sifting through a few, found this was the only one open on a Thursday afternoon. We were met straight away by a lovely lady who we had a great chat to whilst she poured us every wine they had for us to try. Such incredible service and so lovely to chat to a local who has been in the area for many years. We sat outside in the grassed area in the sun which would make a gorgeous spot at night with all the strung lights.

My only regret is that we ate lunch before we visited and didn’t get to try the platters. We saw some patrons with one and it looked stunning. Would recommend you order it if you visit!

Few places make you feel instantly at home, but that's exactly how Prickly Mo made me feel. It's a brilliant place to sit and chat with friends and enjoy the eclectic decor and beautiful country views across the vineyard right next to the main building. Tim is the perfect host. Full of great humour and a really warm personality. Everyone is happy when they come here, and the food beautifully prepared with great choices of cheeses on the cheese platters. Schedule at least a few hours to unwind and catch up with what's happening among your friends. Highly recommended.
