Sandon Catholic Cemetery

Sandon is on the land of Dja Dja Wurrung traditional owners.
The cemetery is next to the Catholic Church of St. Laurence O'Toole, opened on May 6th 1883. There are recent memorials and graves dating back to at least the 1860s so the cemetery predates the church. Parking is on the side of the road out front. Entry is through a wire gate. The original gateposts are just inside the fence, freshly painted white, but the old gates and fence are long gone.
The yard has a loose dirt path and is on a moderate incline. There are no facilities, no shade or drinking water, and no seating. It is a small yard and will not take long to walk around. Many historical graves are in good condition and readable. There is no map or list of burials.
