Naturally Sufficient

We were there with a group of 8 families with young kids. Wally is knowledgeable and generous in sharing his farm life experiences with us and took us on a tour. Kids and grown ups were encouraged to have a go at wood chopping. The experience greatly enhanced the kids’ confidence. We also got to visit the sheeps and chickens, collect eggs and learn about planting at the vege patch. Kids and grown ups got to enjoy a meaningful day playing table tennis, pool game, board games and other activities interacting with each other. There’s a fully equipped kitchen where we got to cook lunch. We also got to try archery in the afternoon. The day at the farm was family friendly and wonderful! And the sunny winter day adds to it! If you are looking for a meaningful and easy day trip with friends and family in an urban farm, this is the place to be. Only an hour or so from Doncaster.

Had a fantastic day at Naturally sufficient with our homegroup. Learnt a lot about sustainable farming. Archery, firewood chopping, wintermelon harvesting, chickens, sheeps etc. A perfect blend of education and outdoor fun!

We’re looking forward to returning to learn more, especially about hunting. Highly recommend for families and groups.

During our last road trip to VIC, we decided to stop by Wally Chiang's place and see his dream hunting space unfold. What a great bloke, it is always nice to meet like-minded humans and the kids loved lending a hand.

Highly recommend this place for a weekend or holiday getaway! We booked a farm experience with our family and friends over the holidays. We were welcomed by warm, friendly and knowledgeable owners. We picked and bought fresh vegetables and fruits at a reasonable price, we also visited chicken farm and picked fresh laid eggs, rode the buggy to tour around the farm and hiked around the area with beautiful scenery and saw wild animals. It was a worthwhile action packed experience!

Unreal hunting experience on the Naturally Sufficient property. My mate and I were both able to take our first Sambar deer. Not only is the huge property perfect for hunting and riddled with deer, the immaculate facilities (huge cooler to hang kills, ban saw, cryovac, mincer, you name it) and Wally’s guidance and wisdom is second to none. Couldn’t recommend more. Thanks again Wally 🙏🏽

Recently spent a couple days at Wally's naturally sufficient farm hunting deer with some mates. It was an awesome experience, Wally is such a nice genuine human, was more than helpfull for everything we needed and we had a blast! The concept is so cool, we are rapidly loosing these "normal" skills that everyone used to know. It's nice to see someone providing a space to bring them back! Will definitely be back with the family this time!

Good place to get away and learn about self sufficient strategies. Well maintained farm house and rooms. Good educational stay for kids, They took good time to show around the farm and explaining things, kids would live it, especially bunnies and chickens. Heaps of berry picking opportunities too..

Experienced the weekend deer course, with Wally the amazing host. Beautiful environment and location surrounded by native bushland. With Pete the awesome deer guru, he customized the learning content to cater for the group. All delicious meals supplied, and great content and learning experiences. Thank you.

Perfect place for deer hunting on beautiful property adjoining state forest. Wally has fitted out the shed with comfortable rooms, kitchen, cooling room, game dressing hoist etc, to make for very convenient hunting trips so close to Melbourne! Four of us spent three days here and had an absolute ball! Highly highly recommend!

Our family visited Naturally Sufficient during the holidays. It was one of the most unforgettable journeys we have ever had! Very nice host and views, with the opportunity to get your hands dirty and learn how crops are produced. I am surprised how big a zucchini can be! When you are responsible for managing and growing the food, you will know how precious they are. It reminds us of reducing food waste when doing grocery shopping and meal prepping. Will definitely visit again!
