Pykes Creek Boat Ramp

Went on a small detour on the way home from another vacation as I saw this place from the highway, decided to get off on the exit and go exploring, glad I did as discovered this gem of a place and when you discover that this is only about 1 hour from Melbourne you realise why so many people were here having a BBQ and having a great day out with the family. Lots of people with gazebos and watercraft (mostly Jet Skis) plenty people having a grand time on their jet skies and lots of people having a swim in the water despite signs that there was an Algae bloom in the water. Very nice, picturesque type place to go and relax by the water, lots of space and plenty of room to set up a spot with the family and make a day of it. Will definitely be back.

Spacious car park and great boat ramp. Grassy areas pleasant and toilets are clean

Lovely at the moment, water level is nice and high. Some quiet places for fishing and plenty of space for power boats etc. Very nice shady trees if you get there early enough. Nice indeed

The Pykes Creek reservoir is a beautiful place to stop on way yo Ballarat. You that the turn off at the top the hill before the reservoir.

There are boat ramp for launching watercraft for enjoyment on the water, but also further down there is also a place where you have tables to sit down to enjoy some drinks or a take away meal.

Beautiful place quite and lots of great views of the water.

If you are ever passing through, worth a stop to just take a break from driving, then feel refreshed to get back on the road again. 😉

I have been coming here for more than three decades with my family and friends. Always the place to stop on your way up the Hwy to whatever destination you're heading, Ballarat, Grampians, Horsham, or even if you want a picnic or fishing spot only a short drive from Melbourne, this place is the ticket. Toilets are available and kept clean all year around. I haven't got to kayak here yet, but it is on the bucket list! Winter is my favourite time of the year to come, reservoir is at its highest and there isn't too many people around.

Love this place for jetsking and just some where to chill out

Great place to bring your jetski. Plenty of parking.

Good for fishing, Good for a picnic too.

Please don't litter. Take your garbage with you.

Ramp is solid and easy to access. Large area for the powered boats and also marked areas for swimming. Water is slightly brownish but clean enough to swim.

Late in the evening or morning you can see eagles flying around.

Very Peaceful Area, Lovely For Family Gatherings, Swim, & Fishing...

It's a quiet place to relax and have BBQs with family and fishing and jet skis on summer day

Great place to go jet skiing

I love going to Pykes Creek, it's clean and well looked after.
Plenty of jet sky's but they stay to one area.
Not bad fishing for the odd trout and redfin.

This is the starting point of Werribee river that went past through melton resorvoir and fall down in sea in Werribee south eventually. Such a nice place to relax with water infront of you. Easy accessibility. You can also bring your water boat for fun.

Most travellers zoom straight past Pykes Creek on the Western Freeway but if you have time and it's a nice day.. it is a great spot to stop and stretch your legs and take in some beautiful sights

Great place for a day out! People swim, kayak, boat and fish here. We did some catch and released redfin as they were a tad small.

Great place to visit have a BBQ or picnic, peaceful good place for fishing recommended this place to others.

Could do with a council cleanup every now and then from broken glass ect

Stopped here for a quick picnic lunch. Very quiet spot. Toilets are a in need of some attention.
