Circa 1936 Art Hotel

We had a wonderful weekend at Circa. Great, stylish rooms with fantastic service. Jen & John are the perfect hosts, attentive but not intrusive. And makers of great cocktails. Everything was perfect. Pity there isn't a 6 star rating

A truely wonderful hotel.
Working in marketing / tourism I travel a lot for work and have high expectations as I have seen and stayed at a lot of hotels in Australia and around the world.

On a recent work trip to Corowa I thought I would try somewhere new and I stumbled across Circa 1936 online.
Well I am so glad I did, My wife and I truly had a wonderful night.
The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated and the whole hotel has such an inviting feel.
The owners, Jen and John, made my wife and I feel extremely welcome and were able to accomodate our requests.

If you are ever in Corowa or nearby, we would 100% recommend staying here.
We will be back for sure on my next week trip to Corowa.

Magnificent hotel for a special occasion! The rooms are beautifully renovated, no expense spared. The owners are delightful and do everything to make your stay as wonderful as possible. Well appointed room, comfortable bed, terrific breakfasts.

We stayed in the West Suite overlooking Sanger Street and absolutely loved it - the room is so luxurious and well appointed. We loved everything about our stay - from welcome drinks on arrival to our breakfast the next day.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and our hosts, Jen and John, were very attentive and made us feel relaxed and welcomed as we were transported back in time with the decor and music of the era.

This wonderful hotel is a destination in its own right. Delightful artwork, sparkling service and polished appointments make it a lovely example of Aussie Art Deco style.

Thank you to our wonderful hosts Jen and John who made our 20th Wedding Anniversary get away to Corowa from Sydney a memorable one. Their beautiful establishment was welcoming and relaxing. The Art Deco style was exquisite with so many lovely touches. Make sure you check out the old bank vault and pennies from heaven art.
The extra little touches that Jen provided daily was beautiful. Our suite was clean and extremely comfortable and there was nothing that was too much trouble. Their knowledge and love of their local community was great. We highly recommend Circa 1936 to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay. We didn't get to try one of John's cocktails im their gorgeous bar so we will have to return to have one or two. Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality.

Just had an amazing weekend staying at Circa 1936. The accommodation was wonderful, the style, atmosphere and the lovely hosts Jenny & John went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable at all times during our stay. Highly recommend booking here, we will definitely be back!

Highly recommend a stay at Circa 1936 Corowa. Could not fault the service and the cocktails were amazing! Day spa is excellent, early check in with a late checkout; but it’s the outstanding service which pushes Circa to the next level. Will definitely be back and if you’re heading through the area do yourself a favour and plan a stop in Corowa.

cannot speak highly enough of this place! Each time we visit we are treated like honoured guests by each of the staff. The rooms are gorgeous - the beds are enormous! and oh so comfy. Everything is included and Lester even polished my husbands shoes - now THAT is service! The food, the spa treatments (massage and manicure thank you very much) the attentive service .... felt like I'd had a week away rather than just a weekend.

Had dinner here (10 course tapas) and it was a real dinning experience. Allow 3 hours which may seem long, however, your dinning companions are good It shouldn't be an issue. Service was great. Real value for money. Attention to detail outstanding. Food was brilliant.

My partner and I spent a night here for our first wedding anniversary. Between the two of us we're reasonably well-travelled, both internationally and within Australia, but I have to say that we've never felt so well looked after as at Circa 1936 (Corowa). Brad and Ria's attention to detail and obvious eagerness to customise each guests' experience was second to none, and both were a genuine pleasure to spend time with. They have a great deal of experience in the hotel industry in a number of countries. We also each had various massages/spa treatments, administered by Gladys; my relaxation massage was perfect and I would happily return just for that, even if we weren't necessarily staying the night again (just to clarify, we WILL be staying again). The thoughtful little touches, extras and surprises from our hosts are too many to list, and the rooms and facilities are beautifully decorated and so comfortable. You will not regret staying here. Full Body Massage & 10 Course Dinner Saturday (thank you Indi) - Sunday breakfast & walk around Corowa we finally left feeling relaxed & treated like a King & Queen - highly recommend

We stayed in the North Suite which was absolutely lovely. Jen and John were extremely hospitable and made every effort to ensure that we had the most amazing time! Would highly highly recommend circa for anyone looking for a few nights away in the country.

Didn't go to the spa but the dinner - FANTASTIC! A tapis inspired dinning experience with a set menu and 10 courses! the food is all canapé/starter size and made by the owner and his (I think mainly) wife; it is served with a full explanation each course and can be tied with some great wines and beer. I wish I had taken pictures to show; it is a set $60pp but was filling and absolutely top notch. The meal is served over about a 3 to 3 1/2hr period so make the time to relax and enjoy. Nice décor with attention to the local area and a great host, great food and knowledgeable serving staff. No, this is not a paid advertisement - but for another meal there; I would.
