Ride On Mary...Kayak & Bike Bush Adventures

What a truly fantastic experience. My husband and I opted to do the kayak and bike package today, we also opted to take Ian up on the 4:45am start time, and boy were we rewarded.

First off, the place. It is absolutely stunning. Kayaking at sunrise, we were privileged to see Platypuses as well as a wide range of other wild life along the river. Having the sun come up over our journey was just magical. The bike trail and forest were also very picturesque, and an easy ride even for those who don't ride all the time (like myself!). We paid a visit to the cafe in Imbil for coffee inbetween activities, and stopped again after our ride for lunch from the bakery. Everything was delicious and Imbil is a really gorgeous town.

Last but not least, Ian. We looked at other options for Kayaking around where we are staying (Cooroy), but are so glad we spotted Ride on Mary as what Ian has put together is something a unique and special. You get excellent communication all the way through the process, a flexible experience so you can go at your own pace, high quality equipment, and the chance to see this truly stunning location in a way that allows you to really take in what it has to offer. We couldn't recommend Ian and Ride on Mary highly enough.

We had the pleasure of dealing with Ian today, we hired some bike & road the rail trail & then road around town. Ian we super helpful. Highly recommend it’s a fun little pedal.

We went a half day kayak hire and took the 4hrs to finish the ride. The creek looks at its driest but you can still enjoy a lush and fun waterway experience. Plenty of water birds, small fish. If you're lucky, you might spot a platypus or snake. Ian is a good guy - I encourage supporting the locals!

I had a wonderful time kayaking on Yabba Creek with my partner. We were ecstatic to learn that we could bring our dog on our adventure and all three of us absolutely enjoyed it! We saw various types of fish, amphibians, birds, and beautiful vegetation. The three hours went by in a blur, as we were enjoying ourselves so much. We highly recommend the kayak rental; for the price we paid, we were given exceptional service, tips on paddling, and prompt drop off and pick up. The owner was within mobile reach when we were on the river, which made us feel safe and comfortable. We’ll certainly return to create more lasting memories!

We had a fantastic time kayaking with Ian at Imbil Bridge. The ride on Mary was peaceful and beautiful, and Ian was an excellent guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help us out if we needed anything.

The kayaking experience itself was breathtaking. The scenery along the river and the bridge was stunning, and we loved exploring the area by kayak. Ian was also very safety-conscious and made sure we were comfortable and well-equipped for the journey.

We did the double, Kayak and cycling. It was a great adventure. It had rained quite a bit prior, so the river was flowing. Ian asked us if we had experience, we said yes. Truth is, it was the first time we had done rapids by ourselves in a kayak. We came out of the kayak a couple of times, and there are some obstacles. So if your not confident, and Ian asks you if you have experience, say NO. We loved it though. The mountain biking is mostly management vehicle tracks through plantation, when not on the Rail Trail, there was some section that was a almost single track. No cars though, so very peaceful. It requires a bit of fitness if you're going to do it all, but you can do as much as you like. We hadn't been to Imbil before either, which was a lovely little town with some delicious food options. It was a great day out. Highly recommend it. And Ian was very accommodating and informative about the region.

Big thanks to Ian for an awesome family day out. He not only met us right on time and provided all the kayaking kit and equipment we needed, but gave us a bunch of really useful pointers and information about the area. We had a ball creating some great memories and we will definitely be back again - highly recommended!

Our family enjoyed a cracking day on the Yabba Creek. While our teenage kids grumbled about the early morning start, they agree it was absolutley worth it!
Loads of wildlife, turtles, platypus, birds, fish and a swiming snake. Being on the water together was definitely the recharge we all needed.
The overall experience was reasonably priced and tailored to our ability. Ian was super easy, friendly and efficient to communicate with. Thank you 🐢

Ride On Mary is a fantastic company to experience the Mary River in all its glory. Ian was incredibly helpful and the whole experience was seemless.

We took our 2 kids (4 & 6) out for 3 hours on the self guided tour.

The peacefulness of the journey was unexpected, after the first 100mts you are away from the road and all you can hear is bird song and the wind in the trees. There were plenty of king fishers to stop and watch among other bird life that was in abundance. We stopped by some small rapids for a packed lunch and a swim and made our way back.

Ian provides all the gear as well as simple and clear directions and landmarks. The kids loved it just as much as we did. It was one of the best experiences we did in ages and will be back to do it again!

Had an awesome Sunday afternoon kayak down Yabba Creek, in total 3 hrs of scenic river spotting lots of big lungfish. This is a must if you are in the area. Ian was very friendly and was happy to hire us kayaks last minute with no fuss.

My wife and I had a fantastic experience at Imbil Bike and Kayak - just what the doctor ordered for a get away from it all. The website for the bush cabin explained perfectly that this is not a resort, but a back to basics adventure. It was romantic and quiet. Late at night, possums came out to investigate. This is a real and honest environment for those who are not afraid to leave the city lights. Highly recommended!

Kris and I loved our stay over Christmas and thought we would let other know how wonderful your cabin is. 5 star rating from us.
Trying to find a cost effective getaway that does not have crowds, screaming kids and loud music is getting harder these days.
But we have found the perfect place. Ride on Mary Imbil bush cabin.

Private, quite, relaxing, comfortable and clean are just a few ways to describe our new found getaway.

If you are looking for a quality eco bush retreat this place is for you.

From the moment we arrived we starting to relax.
We spent lazy days reading lost in the romance of the bush with birds calling and cicada’s singing, and stunning nights under huge sky’s chatting around the fire with a glass of wine toasting marshmallows or laying in the bath star gazing.
Totally private lost in our little world we could not have asked for more.
With no television to shatter the peace and quiet, comfortable king size bed in a stunning cabin, great cooking facilities, plenty of room to relax and the outside shower and bath under the stars this place is truly paradise.

For the adventurous there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, with maps supplied from Ian we went Downhill Mountain biking. We found great downhill runs for the hard-core, also some to suit beginners and plenty of trail rides. We went swimming, bush walking and visited of local towns.

We highly recommend Ride on Mary cabin to all; we have booked our next stay already.
