Farringdon Homestead

Our room was large, all new and modern with it own ensuite and very comfortable bed. It sits independent to but beside the residence. The bed was very comfortable, with ample wardrobe storage that included special space for tea and coffee making facilities. Outside the room was the veranda that gave panoramic views out to Mt Lindsay and the Great Dividing Range. Even in the height of this drought, it still looked great.
Or hosts, Trudy and Ian, were very helpful and and made us feel very welcome.

Looking to get away for a break - this is the place for you. We recently had the pleasure of staying with Trudy and Ian at Farringdon Homestead and we loved it. It was very peaceful sitting on the deck looking at the scenery and we loved relaxing in the afternoon around the campfire Ian set up for us each night. We also did a great walk one morning around the rim. As another reviewer has pointed out, Trudy is a simply fantastic cook and we enjoyed her meals immensely. There are also camping grounds on the property with a spring fed creek, a communal kitchen and toilet as well as wide open paddocks for the kids to roam/playsports/ride their bikes etc. We will certainly be bringing our kids here to camp, but I suggest booking in early as I expect this campsite might book out quickly. Perhaps the hidden gem here though is Trudy and Ian themselves - they are simply the loveliest of people - we greatly enjoyed their company and we look forward to going back to see them again soon.

The homestead is a special place, I'll be back when I need to getaway from it all. The food was amazing and hosts so warm and welcoming. Feel very lucky to have a private tour of the property and beautiful landscape. Room was large with balcony to enjoy cheese platter and drink while watching the sunset.

The hosts here are outstanding folk and have made this little retreat spectacular. It offers a perfect scenic getaway for the adults not too far from the big smoke and food that would rate in a 5 star restuarant anywhere. Do yourself a favour and get down there, you will not be disappointed in any way.

Highly recommended! I've just had one of the best experiences of my life.... the views here are incredible... home grown home cooked delicious food... cozy comfortable well appointed rooms... easy to get to... ducks and chooks... campfire.. wonderful hosts... what else could I have asked for...
