Willow Vale Cooking School

Had a lovely experience with Bruno and Catherine. Such lovely people! This was a 50 th birthday present for my husband, Charlie. He thoroughly enjoyed it and so did I. The dishes Bruno served up were delicious and I can’t wait to try them at home. While Bruno was preparing the food, both he and Catherine shared stories and listened to ours as well. Hopefully our next visit will be sooner rather than later. Thanks for a beautiful weekend 😊

Being a gallery owner I believe there is a difference between being  a painter and becoming a true artist. It is the same with food. We can all be cooks but only a very few become true chefs. Last night I had the opportunity to experience the food artistry and hospitality of acclaimed international chef Bruno Loubet and his lovely wife Catherine.

I booked to go to the Bastille Day dinner where each course of this food journey was  highlighted by the use of Truffles sourced from Western Australia. I have never tasted truffle before so I can now  tick that experience off my life list. A wonderful night made all the more special by the fact that it did not take place in a crowded or noisy restaurant but in the warmth of their own home watching Bruno create his art while sharing stories with the 10 other guests and our hosts.

I can only say it was more of a life  experience than just a dinner.

My next food bucket list is to learn how to make a true french baguette. The answer to this puzzle is "The Willow Vale Cooking School" in beautiful Perseverance.

Bruno + Catherine are a delight and we were enamoured by their warm welcome + open hospitality. It was a wonderful day shared with friends, where we learned all about Provençal cuisine and Bruno's culinary skills, not to mention his fabulous french accent and classic 'dad' jokes! Finally sitting down to enjoy an amazing meal, accompanied with great stories and wonderful company. (And the most amazing Tarte Tropezienne for dessert) THANK YOU for a wonderful day + we can't wait to come back.

What a wonderful food experience with Chef Bruno and Catherine. From start to finish food was exquisite with beautiful flavours bursting on your tongue. Such intimate knowledge passed on to us with great hints and twists. Cannot wait to go back and sample very fine good food again! Thank you Bruno and Catherine!

Bruno and Catherine were wonderful, hospitable from the moment we walked into their kitchen. Very open and friendly experience complimented with the beautiful province French cuisine! Highly recommended for all, young, old, families and friends!

Our class on the cooking of Provence was such a delight. To be instructed on the preparation of a 3 course meal Provence style was a real treat, but Bruno also added tips on knife skills, choice of oils, use of herbs and spices, growing your own vegetables, and much more. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

A big, big thank you to Bruno and Catherine for creating such an original, generous and beautiful experience in their A Day In Provence class. It was a priviledge to watch Bruno share his knowledge, stories and passion for food. We even got to explore their gorgeous property which was a lovely bonus!

Organised the cooking school as a bday present, however the session was cancelled due to lack to attendees. Emailed to reorganise for a specific session, didn't receive a response. Called to confirm a couple days later and was told they read the email but were too busy to reply. They did however confirm it was fine to attend. The second session we organised was also cancelled due to lack of attendees. Didn't actually attend the cooking class, I'm sure it would be an enjoyable experience, however just hope your session doesn't get cancelled because it isn't a pleasant experience to reorganise. Given where the cooking school is, I would advise giving more notice if a session is cancelled as people may organise accommodation if travelling outside of Brisbane or Toowoomba to attend the class.
