Finchley Campground

Great quiet spot. Not much here but peaceful and accessible from Sydney. The campsites are blocked off from the car park so you need to carry your tent to a spot or sleep in your car. There's a long drop toilet here that also gets used by passing dirt bike riders and people visiting the nearby lookout.

Amazing weekend getaway spot, so close to city but feels hundreds of miles away. The track is fairly easy so you certainly don't need a 4B. There's a summit lookout close by where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset if the weather helps. The campsite has a concrete fire pit and a bush toilet. Make sure you bring plenty water, check fire ban and watch out for the big lizards while you driving as they tend to sun bake in the middle of the track during morning.

The back of no where. Great spot to camp if you don't want to be around people. They have a bush toilet. Bring your own water. The lookout there is great too and the rock carvings are good.

Well worth a visit.
Take care for motor bikes as they have just as much right as vehicles.

A basic but well kept campground, not too deep into the national park to start worrying about being cut off from civilisation entirely, but far enough to make you feel away from it all. There is a lookout and aboriginal rock engravings within easy reach of the camping. Mind that the roads are like firetrails.

Quite and beautiful spot for campers who wants to remain isolated. No rush no people. You can witness a breathtaking sunset. Will visit again and again !

Last time I was here, over 10 years ago, it was a tiny rubble strewn mess that noone would want to camp at, with nothing more than a decrepit shack drop loo and 1 broken rusted out bbq.
Fast forward to Dec '18 and it's a brilliant bush camp area!! Much bigger now, it combines more open space, yet still manages to feel like a proper bush camp. Drop loo has a proper steel enclosure now, good bbq's dotted around the area, and a big communal concrete fire pit. The tourist info board is very interesting and informative. Good signage to the entrance. Only a short walk to a breathtaking lookout over the Darug area to Mt Yengo and beyond.
National parks deserve two thumbs up for the work that's gone into this camping area.
If you are looking for a nice little remote bush camp, Finchley camp is hard to beat!!

Plenty of fire spots available. Just gotta watch oit for ants
