The Old Vic Inn

My childhood was spent in Canowindra, so the Old Vic Inn's history was known to me. My husband(not a local)always wanted to stay there when we came to visit family. This time we did and it was fantastic. The hot air balloon Challenge was on. Being in the centre of town, view of the parade and balloons from the balcony was well worth it. Our hosts Alison and Graham were great, Rooms were comfortable and being a guest house we got to meet so many interesting people in the breakfast room or in the small bar around a great fireplace. Also recommend the restaurant when open. Thoroughly recommend a stay there.

We traveled from a very busy and noisy city to canowindra for family matters. We stayed in the family suite in the old vic inn and I instantly fell in love. The charm of the historical building, the old fashioned decor and original features dating years back ( 1800's maybe) the rooms were adorable and comfortable, such a quiet and lovely place to unwind. The owners were brilliant and super kind. An unforgettable experience for my teenagers who adored the place. Hope to visit again soon

We stayed at the Old Vic Inn on Saturday and Sunday nights over the long weekend and wow what an experience!! From the moment we arrived our hosts Graeme and Alison made us feel so welcome. Our room was beautiful old charm, extremely clean and the bed was so comfy. It was a very cold weekend and even though split system heating was provided we didn't need it our room was toasty warm and the fireplace in the lounge area downstairs was cozy and a great atmosphere. Graeme and Alison took time out to come and chat with us on both nights while we had drinks in the lounge before dinner which was lovely. We dined in their restaurant both nights and were not disappointed, all our meals were amazing. Thank you Graeme and Alison and your staff for your great hospitality, I would highly recommend The Old Vic Inn for a relaxing old charm experience. We will definitely be back.

An absoloutly phenomenal place to stay. The staff and owners are nothing short of exceptional. Value for money is exceptional, beautifull room, comfortable bedding and amenities and excellent food. This will be my go-to place whenever I'm in the area.
To top it off the bar is exceptionally well priced.

Dropped in for dinner and a couple of drinks. Super friendly service and the food was to die for. Worth every cent. Highly recommend staying here. Great fireplace beers and wine.

The foods in the dinner time from the restaurant were exceptional. Especially their Surf & Turf with their pepper sauce, their lambs, and their chocolate lava dessert and pear on the red wine. Their local shiraz wine The Mill also too good to be true.

The bedroom and the breakfast made you feel home. Serve yourself and make your home.

Great atmosphere here, classic and clean establishment, after signing in, there's a lovely small bar and sitting room with a roaring fireplace and a solid selection of alcoholic beverages. Had a Kozel dark beer (Czech) and then two excellent local ciders, one a pear and the other applr, which seems to be rare in this town as the locals appear to be drawn to familiar drinks like Strongbow.

The dining room is just as warm and welcoming and the food is delicious, well cooked and full of flavour. Loved my lamb rump, tender and hearty, although I would say the spring rolls are tasty but rather overpriced for just two.

Sensational!!! Beautiful luxe rooms, I died and went to heaven! Such a wonderful place. I didn't want to leave!!! Great place to be, awesome staff. Double thumbs up from me!!!😎👍👍

For an international traveler, this place is fantastic! It’s old, but everything is neat and tidy, the staff is very friendly. Feel like a big family here! These are the key things I look forward to when visiting a town/new place.

The historic Old Vic Inn at Canowindra has had renovations in the last little while and they have worked out well. A lovely pub to have lunch. Reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly. Spend a little longer and read through their history corner just inside the main door. Lots to learn about the history of the pub and the town.

Meal only we did not stay, well maintained beautiful building, owners are wonderful food was fantastic, had a self guided tour of the building while dinner was being prepared- wish we had stayed here, history of the building is a good conversation with owners

Sorta like an old English Pub. Gr8 hospitality, very clean and good pub lunch. Not yet stayed there however I believe the rooms are clean tidy and a quote from a guest said very comfortable beds.

Had a beautiful 3 course meal, great ambience, atmosphere and hospitality. The meals were elegant, flavoursome and filling!
Cant wait to do it again. Thankyou oldvic.

I recommend this restaurant to dine at if your in the area for the night or two ! It has a nice simple dinner menu and an old classy feel.
