At the entrance to lord howe is museum they have a full range of information and loca lproducts.

Myrtle Rust and the dangers of the chemicals used to treat it.
I feel very strongly that the Tourism Board and the operators have a duty of care to advise all visitors and forward bookings of the implications of the fungus, the aggressive chemical treatment employed to eradicate the rust and the harm these chemicals can do to humans via contact and airborne transfer.
I was disappointed that a week out from paying $22 000 to Pinetrees Lodge for our imminent holiday, they had failed to advise us of the issue in any respect - two days from the payment date, still nothing.
With a baby in our party it was especially high risk, and Pinetrees owners refused to delay the payment or refund the already paid deposit.
Shocking. Given this is an eco island, the chemicals create a disconnect with the environment, we would be excluded from most of the key unique parts of the island - and the dangers from chemical treatment seem to have been brushed under the carpet.

Avoid this place like the plague! I spoke to Tenile/Tenille and requested some travel information.

SHE REFUSED TO SEND ME WHAT I REQUESTED !!!! SERIOUSLY ???? She said I needed to look at everything online. I said I want a printed travel guide. She said that would cost $55!!!! Seriously????

The whole conversation with this Tenile/Tenille person just ruined my day and left a sour taste in my mouth.

She obviously doesn't want people to visit this Island and spend their money there.

This Tenile/Tenille person DESPERATELY NEEDS EXTENSIVE TRAINING on how to deal with potential customers and problem solving skills. She should get ZERO STARS.
