Stayed in the cabin over the New Years period.
Friendly hotel and bar staff.
Food was delicious.
Cabin was super clean except the aircon and fan which were dusty/dirty.
I wish the bed was more comfortable.
Laundry is available on site, washing machines and dryers were clean and decent.

Visited this restaurant a few times during recent holidays. The staff are super friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. All the meals we sampled were delicious and plentiful with the seafood basket becoming a favourite. Beautiful outlook and if its too windy the staff will pull down the screens and even supply a heater if needed.

We're in the middle of a 3 night break away. Our first in quite sometime. Firstly, Michelle, reception/manager, is worth her weight in gold and then some! Professional, caring and goes the extra mile to get things sorted.
Secondly the location! Just beautiful! Didn't realise we'd literally be pretty much beach front until we arrived. Very peaceful too. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit while you're here as well. Staff are fabulous and the food is yummo!
That brings me to thirdly, the cabin... The cabin itself is perfectly fine. Looks to be 80s vintage with some upgrades, very well looked after and spotlessly clean. The biggest issue for me was access. As a plus sized person with mobility issues, related to a psychical disability, I usually check what the access is like in terms of stairs etc and what the bathroom layout is. I did not do that this time. The cabin access included an uphill concrete path that was stepped in two places. Both steps lead directly into the next incline rather than a flat area. Having one foot that lacks flexibility made it impossible to navigate these without physical support from my husband as there are no rails to aid stepping up and down. The stairs to the cabin itself also have no railing and to access I had to physically climb on all fours, both up and down, as there was nothing to hang onto for support. Both hubby and I wondered how many people had misstepped coming up the path on the way back from the pub and wound up on their backs in the carpark. In all honesty, that alone is a serious accident waiting to happen.
Inside the cabin, the biggest problem for me was using the toilet. It's situated in one corner of the bathroom with a towel rail along the wall next to it. Very difficult for someone with mobility issues to get on and off without assistance.
When I contacted Michelle to let her know what the problems were, she offered to move us to a wheelchair accessible cabin straight away. I am wondering why this cabin is not mentioned on any of the booking apps or on the Hay Point Hotel Motel website. If I had of known about it, I would definitely have booked it up front.
Other than the above, our stay here is proving to be a relaxing time away.

Our room was such a great surprise. I have been in hospitality for over 35 years in housekeeping and our room was oh so very clean. Have stayed in many a motel room and this is by far the cleanest . Well done housekeeping. Was also nice to have complementary cereal n milk.
Receptionist was very friendly. The meal we had in the hotel was yummy and once again staff very friendly. Would certainly recommend Hay Point Hotel Motel.

Hay Point or Bora Bora - absolutely stunning view, perfectly neat and comfortable rooms, can definitely recommend.

Not much to look at driving in at night. But really delightful to wake up and see in the day time. The swaying palm trees line the bay that over look the beach is absolutely stunning for sunrise - great photo opportunity.

Very pleasing decor, great impressions, all very neat and clean and seemingly newly refurbished.

Very comfortable room; smart tv with Netflix etc, kitchenette (with individual cereal packs, tea/coffee/milo, biscuits - only thing missing was a sharp knife and chopping board). Good shower (no hairdryer, may be available at reception). Good luggage space.

Nice quiet area, beach access directly from room.

We spent the morning walking the length of the beach.

Staff were very friendly and helpful - thank you for the recommendation to see the Hay Point Terminal Lookout at night, less than 5mins down the road - well worth a drive and stunning views.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I had a cabin for one week. It was the disabled cabin, however it was fantastic and in a beautiful part of the world.
At the back of the restaurant, a massive outdoor area, big bug grassed area and tables right near the water.
If you stay in a normal room, when you open your back door, your not far from the water.

Great food and great location to view out to the ocean and tug harbour. The cheap meals are excellent. Especially to drop in from work. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Pulled up to this cool spot in Hay Point Hotel/Motel and it literally has everything. Great spacious cabins, close to beaches, lookouts and Mackay. The service is friendly and welcoming. Great spot to pull in for a bite or a cold drink.

Nice place but there beds a far too hard. And pillows too soft. Needs a regular chief you can't show people the menu and then tell them sorry we can't do that as we have no cook.

Went to eat at the Bistro with large group, all meals from the menu were delicious, well priced and good servings. In particular those that had fish and chips were raving that it is the best they ever had. Thanks.

Veggie pizza was scrumptious. Free pool tables, good music, can make cocktails that aren't on the list. Best place to eat in the area.
