Archer & Holland are an Adelaide icon. While it is sad that they're retiring and closing the business, they have served the people of Adelaide well for many decades.

Walked in with no appt two days before xmas, hoping for an engagement ring resizing. Had been turned away from others stating at least two weeks turnaround. These lovely people are amazing! Will be ready for me to wear on Xmas day. Cannot recommend them enough.

Unfortunately I have had a terrible experience with Archer and Holland. I paid thousands of dollars to get family jewellery remodelled and a ring resized, so I could wear and enjoy them. The resized ring snapped only 2 weeks after collecting it (the band where it was resized broke open). I phoned to arrange a time to take it back in and was told to hold off dropping it off for a couple of months as the store was being remodelled. Finally I was able to take my ring back in, where I was accused of breaking it (that I must have put pressure on it to cause it to break). This was absolutely not the case. The band pinged broken when I was in a meeting simply talking to people. I was so upset by this accusation I ended up in tears. They kept telling me their jeweller was a Master Jeweller and that his rings ‘didn’t just break’. They were also going to charge me a few more hundred dollars to fix it!!! I’d only worn it for two weeks after paying a few hundred dollars to have it resized. I’ve never had a gold ring break ever before! Eventually they agreed to fix it, after much angst. When I went to pick it up after being fixed, the salesperson tried to charge me again, telling me again that I broke it!! I’d spent so much money and waited so long to wear this ring and to be accused twice of breaking it was awful. I eventually got my ring and I’ve now worn it again for around 3 months and it snapped again yesterday while I was sitting playing cards with friends! I couldn’t face going in as I’ve had such an awful experience and been in tears twice over this, so my husband took my ring back in. He got told that it would be yet another $380 to fix it as ‘the band is thin and will keep breaking’. I was never told that having my ring resized would mean I couldn’t wear it as the band would be too thin and would break if I wore it. What were the hundreds of dollars I paid for? This has been just an awful awful experience.
