The Guardsman

A beautiful venue in the train station. We visited on Wednesday for 2 for 1 schnitzels. We received our food quickly and had good portions.

Very pleasant surprise. Called in after the Tina show before getting a train home. Two for one schnitzels and great wines for happy hour. The meals were great. Quality schnitzel meat, amazing crumb, delicious chips and the best fresh salad. Impressed by the staff too. We’ll be back, specials or not.

Four of us went on a Thursday for lunch. We all decided to order the $20 lunch special - a choice of three curries and a beer or wine.
We never expected what came out - a huge Indian tin platter covered in bright, fresh appetizing food - a bowl of curry, 4 pitta bread slices, a mound of rice and a delicious garden salad.

The curries were delicious with loads of chicken or lamb. I had a glass of sparkling wine - excellent too.

We were going to the hotel in North Terrace but it was noisy and crowded. We were so glad we walked across the road to the station. The Guardsman is always quiet with that wonderful art deco old world ambience.

The staff are lovely too - friendly happy and efficient.

We ended with great coffees too.

I can't fault the Guardsman, especially anyone looking for a quiet place to sit and chat whilst enjoying amazing food at incredible prices.

Absolutely love the Guardsmen. We went there for dinner this evening. We had a booking for 8pm. We were late and the staff were so lovely. Nothing was a bother and yet we knew the kitchen was closing for the evening so they could have been very annoyed. The meal was beautiful and staff amazing. We will definitely be going back when we come back to Adelaide. ❤

Across from the Railway Station platforms is this fantastic pub, with awesome food. It was quite busy, a bit noisy with happy chatter. Young people playing ?Snooker, friends gathering to eat. Sports on huge TV's. I chose Zucchini and Pea Fritters.. It was so delish!

Great vibe in the restaurant. Food was good. Price was high for what it is, but nice for a change. One of the waitresses wasn't very welcoming. She wasn't thrilled when we told her we only had one serviette on the table for 2 of us. She reluctantly gave us a second one and didn't say anything. Apart from that, it was a good experience.

Happy hour vibe was great, an historic welcoming pub right in the railway station! What a brilliant idea! Staff were friendly and efficient, food spectacular

We were looking for another restaurant and staff were really friendly and helpful in giving us directions. The other restaurant was full so we returned to the Guardsman and staff were very accomodating finding us a both for our family with 3 kids. Meals were quick, staff were fantastic. Food was delicious especially the kids ice cream with chocolate swirls (included in the generous $12.00 kids meals).

The Guardsmen's lamb curry is truly exceptional, offering a delightful blend of flavors. The friendly service enhances the overall experience, making it a standout choice for those seeking a warm atmosphere and delicious cuisine.

The Guardsman was crazy busy before a football match but the staff were all amazing. Our large group was seated quickly, we didn't have to wait long at the bar to order drinks or food and the kitchen staff got the food out quickly. The food was great. I went with the curry special and it was delicious.

We only had 35 minutes to catch a train and spoke to Head person DHAVEE explaining this so he organised a great table for four and we Enjoyed the Curry special.
We definitely will go back for there other Specials they Offer. A Wonderful setting and you can see the kitchen in Full Swing

OMG!!.
I have had the best seafood Spaghetti meal. prawns, scallops, mussels, fish with wonderful spaghetti sauce.
this menu is very generous and fresh. highly recommended.

We had cappuccino and toasted banana bread. The latte art was very impressive, and the place was comfortable. The coffee and food tasted great.

Awesome dining experience in a beautiful space. A few clearly marked vegan options including a delicious vegan schnitzel. Take advantage of the 2 for 1 schnitzel Wednesdays.

Great variety of food choices at reasonable prices and front of house staff are always so friendly including as well the great guys in the kitchen who lovingly prepare all off the food, The Guardsman is an awesome restaurant to dine at. Thank you.

Best parmi in Adelaide.
They have a good drink selection, a solid menu and the staff are helpful and friendly.
I always go for the chicken parmigiana. Tender chicken with delicious cheese and ham. Very generous portions.
Glad to see them back open!

Such a great place to eat & the food is rarely longer than a 15 minute wait!
