Hotel Illawong

We had a great experience recently eating here. We ordered via the QR code and our food was served very quickly. Great variety of options on the kids menu. The pizza and garlic bread was delicious all the food looked good. The pizza is a proper wood fired pizza which was so nice. I love that there are photos of all the meals via the QR code link on the menu. The staff were also really nice and helpful.

We come to Evans Head every year ‘ the last few times we have been here we have had lunch at the Hotel Illawong. I am pretty hard to please but we can’t go past the Southern Fried Chicken Burger, it is the best burger & chips we have had ever. We live on the Gold Coast & with all the surf clubs etc you would think we could find somewhere that could compete but sadly no. We have even driven down here just for lunch. We love it! I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. For a budget hotel, the room was absolutely fine, a bit old but terrific value. The bathrooms and showers were spacious. The staff were friendly and helped me store my baby honda goldwing out back which was appreciated. The food at the restaurant was excellent and the location of the establishment is second to none.

A great pub - had a quick lunch on Oz Day weekend. Used QR code ordering and although it was busy our food wasn't too long.
Salt & Pepper Squid was fantastic! Recommend! 👌🏻

Food was amazing opened late as well ordered pizza and the most amazing vege burger the taste was great and I dont even like vege burgers ha ha that's how good it sounded. Chicken wings also great although the buffalo sause was just Tabasco

This place is amazing. I went for dinner Friday night, staff were incredibly attentive with the manager checking in on us multiple times. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection, meat lovers pizza one of the best I’ve eaten. Schnitty and kids meals great value for money and really tasty. We will definitely be back.

Hotel Illawong was an absolutely incredible stay. My friends and I (3 Americans) were backpacking down the coast and came across this bar. We learned it was a hotel, booked a stay, and it was easily the nicest accommodation we stayed in the whole trip. It’s not the nicest in the world compared to some luxury resort, but for a few backpackers it was far nicer than any hostel or motel we stayed at for a fraction of the cost. Was very impressed with the whole staff too. Sunny, the GM, in particular was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. This was a bright spot on our holiday, and I’ll be talking about the stay here for years.

Five star food and service in a three star hotel with clean rooms. The chef is a master, we stayed a few days and enjoyed every meal, including one of us who is vegetarian with many options. Dan, Emma and other staff always helpful. Lovely new outdoor space and tables.

We had a meal there last night and it was great and the girl who served us and ran the bar is fantastic, she deserves a raise.

One of the best pubs on the Far North Coast. Live music on weekends, beautiful outdoor area with kids playground, lovely bistro with local seafood specials in a fantastic location. I'm hesitant to let people know how good Evans is....

The Hotel has the most amazing tasting Nachos, homemade cheesecake 😋 awesome crew of people working there and great live music 🎶 the vibe of this place is so welcoming and chilled. Highly recommend this Hotel as the Gem of Evans Head.

Went on a quiet Sunday night with the kids for a family dinner. On first appearances the menu seemed a little pricy, however the meals were all extreamly tasty, well sized and made from quality ingredients, so worth the money. Staff were very friendly, and very attentive.
Unfortunaltey the weather was cool so we couldn't take advantage of the large outdoor deck, which I'm sure would be a lovely place to sit on a warm day. Small playground kept the kids amused.
Highly recommend.

Popped in for a Monday lunch on the way to the airport. Dog friendly- great food, reasonably priced for quality- and helpful welcoming staff. Honestly it’s a Northern Rivers hidden gem!

Was very pleasantly surprised to find a full vegan and gluten free menu here, and the nachos were delicious! Highly recommend for pub food in general, but also for those with dietary requirements!

Food here is amazing and decent selection of beers available Love the location so close to everything. Family friendly and bonus for having a play area for the kids.

Wide range of menu options with the standard aussie pub classics and a selection of more gourmet dishes everything we have eaten has been tasty and fresh. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great for kids.
