Burnie Airport

Great little airport. Very friendly staff. Comfortable sitting area.

Easy checkin. Reasonably priced parking. Lady in the Cafe was lovely and flight was on time.

It's one of the best airports that I've used. The staff are very friendly and helpful well done to all of the staff. Just arrived home to our beautiful state, best of all home to our wonderful airport. No hassles, no fanfare, just great service, most of all friendly, smiling people. It's great to be home.

Airport amazing staff , so helpfull, Taxis an absolute disgrace, booked one from Melb and arrived over an hour later , left alone at airport at night , I'm 73 , not exceptable

Couldn't be more happy with the service today at Burnie airport. The cafe employees were amazing and made my wait time so much shorter with the time they take to chat to you. Not to mention the use of that amazing couch!

I can't speak highly enough of the crew and staff at Burnie/Wynyard airport, everyone is super friendly and helpful which is a bonus, check in is super quick, toilets are always clean, coffee is amazing from the cafe and REX flight staff and crew are also pleasant to deal with and greet you with a smile, all this sets the day up for me to be a good one, I will be flying again on the 18th march 2020 and although I don't really like the flight itself (nervous flyer) i gather some comfort in the way I will be greeted from airport staff, cafe staff and REX crew members, it's a win win for my confidence. I will however mention that I have been reading the complaints about the Taxi service for the airport, and from what I can see online, Burnie Taxi service have NO place on the web to leave a review it actually comes up with BWT for the place to leave a review, I would suggest if people would like to leave a Burnie Taxi review, please google Burnie Taxi's and lodge a complaint via their online feedback form OR ring them on the number, as I too have found the Burnie Taxi drivers to be somewhat rude and incompetent but that doesn't mean it's the airports fault and I will be letting the taxi service know this, as I had booked a taxi a few days in advance and then double checked my pick up time the day before and low and behold my taxi was late (nearly missed my flight) and when I said to him, your a bit late, the driver said, your lucky I was in town as the lady taxi driver who was supposed to come get me picked up her car at Burnie ignoring my booking and went to Ulverstone, so even though the taxi services the airport, airport staff and crew probably have no sway in how the drivers treat their customers, but I wish they did because it's not nice after being up since 5 am and 2 flights later and getting home at 8.30 pm to have a taxi driver waiting with his arms folder and I say to him, can I hop in and he says to me in a gruff tone, I don't know do you have a booking, I said yes I booked you yesterday he had 1 passenger only sitting in front he looked into the cab and said, no I can't take you I have to drop this guy off first, I said I only live in Wynyard, (bear in mind the guy he was taking home lived in Somerset), I was a bit put out and the nice young guy in the front of the taxi said to me, where do you live, I said just a few streets away, and it was the passenger who said to me, hop in he can take you i don't mind, I wish I had got the young mans name he had better customer service than the driver. And just to reiterate, the airport can't be faulted on the Burnie Taxi drivers for their bad attitude.

I’m rating 5 stars, because so many morons are coming onto this page and reviewing 1 star because of taxis etc. Taxi companies and airports are completely different services - make sure you’re reviewing the correct company before trashing them publicly.

A far nicer option than Hobart or Launceston for arriving to and leaving Tassie, no crowds, no stress, easy and cheap parking.

Great service the airport staff are very patient and understanding.
