Donald Riverside Motel

What a lovely place! The Manager is a friendly person and takes good care of the property: clean, new bed linen, comfy beds, good wifi and TV works! The bathroom was recently updated and excellent.
This small motel has rooms with a decent size balcony with a beautiful view over the river with ducks floating by.
I'm glad we chose this motel. Short walk to the main street. It seems Donald is a peaceful town and you don't need to worry about noise here. All rooms are ground floor.

Great place to stay! The owners are lovely! So friendly and welcoming. Room was very clean, bath rooms were lovely! Bed was comfortable. The deck is a great area to sit on. Highly recommend!

Perfect relaxing stopover on a long road trip. Friendly service and meticulously clean and modern rooms. Comfortable with tea/coffee mini fridge and toaster. View onto the river from the balcony is just lovely.

Neat clean and quiet, fully renovated bathroom and beautiful view over the creek from a private balcony.

Hi Folks. Stayed here on a work trip late last year. Lovely people, lovely spot with breezes, a creek and full bbq area. Big rooms with great bathrooms. Family friendly. Big thanks to Gina for her help when I was unwell. Above and beyond. Thank you so much. Cheers Peter.

Comfy bed. Great bathroom/ shower and awesome out door private deck overlooking the creek. Friendly staff as well
Easy walk to town for pubs,cafes and supermarket

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our road trip. This motel is far beyond a just-normal old motel (compared to other motels we stayed).
The room is very clean with newly updated bathroom and nice hot water. Nice view to the creek from the private balcony too. Walking distance to the town center and all local shops.
Will definitely return if we come around again!

A wonderful place to stay, and the service was exceptional. The friendly, helpful owners take much pride in their business and keep the rooms and outside areas immaculate.
Andrew went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable.
The rooms are clean and have very comfortable beds. They also have large private decks with amazing views of the river, native gum trees, and spectacular native birds.
It’s the first time we stayed here and we will definitely be returning.

Week long road trip & this unexpected gem is was probably our best value for money accommodation.

Very welcoming check in. Room is smallish, but for the price has everything you could want: comfortable beds, nicely renovated bathroom, plenty of powerpoints, cutlery & plates & rear deck overlooking creek.

Within easy walking distance to cafe, pubs & Chinese & super friendly locals.

Very unexpected accommodation, but small country town friendliness isn't unusual.

Went to Donald for work and we stayed the night last night. I never bother with reviews normally but this place stood out so I had to say something.

The young couple running it were absolutely lovely and went out of their way to make us comfortable, even though we were really only after a simple bed for the night. The rooms were well stocked and beautiful, with a great view of the river. I don't know what the price was cos it was paid for by work but I can guarantee I've paid a lot more for a lot worse. The bathroom was modern and spacious and superbly clean.

All in all I wish I'd been on holiday rather than a work trip because I didn't get to take advantage of all the things I wanted to (we left too early for breakfast!) but if I'm ever in the area again I know where I want to stay. Thanks guys, it was great.

I would give more stars if I could. This small motel shows how it can be done. Attention to detail is the key. So is friendly service. Excellent phone manner. Reasonable room price. Lovely views of the river from your own large, private outdoor area.
The bed was very comfy and made up with a bespoke bed spread. Lovely touch. As was the cushion on the chair featuring Australian parrots. Updated bathroom. Rain shower. Parking at the door. Yes i loved this one night stay. Well done to the owners and staff. Only 7 rooms so make sure you book.

What a great little motel! Cathy took the time to show us to our room and explain where everything was. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and have everything you could need. Bathroom is also large and very clean. Even with all the units on ground level they each have a large balcony overlooking the creek. We just wish the weather had been better to sit out on the balcony. Bed was extremely comfortable and bedding was warm, we didn't even need to turn on the electric blankets. Love that guests are treated to a Kooka's biscuit...support the locals! There is a BBQ area and outdoor eating area. Garden is well maintained and lots of interesting things to look at in the grounds. Keep up the good work Cathy & Michael.

I had a lovely overnight stay on my way back to Melbourne. The location is convenient and room was clean. It had everything you could need for a short stay. Comfy bed, microwave and wifi. The little balcony and river view was perfect. Owner was friendly. Highly recommend.

A very friendly, clean motel. Brand new bathrooms. Lovely balcony overlooking the river. All amenities. Very interesting town. Good food from hotel up the road. Free outdoor solar heated swimming pool up the road. Only hiccup, couldn't get onto wifi, but had own connectivity anyway so no problem. Excellent, thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful place very peaceful calm n quiet.
The service was v good by the staff specifically Michael. They have provided a good bbq area too. Local IGA was 2 mins walking. I must say 5 stars overall.

Very clean and tidy room, we had a 2 bedroom room and it was very spacious. Very nice renovated bathroom and the beds very comfy. Lovely staff and just a lovely place to stay. Highly recommend
